The Chevrolet Bowtie is as American as Mom's Apple Pie, as are some of the most popular American Classics that wear this everlasting trademark. In the pre-WW2 era, Chevrolet had a reputation for building cars of fine value. A family that bought a Chevrolet in the early 1930s received alot of car for their money. They cost a bit more than a Ford V8 of the same year, but the reliable Chevy "Stovebolt" engine was a proven design that endured for decades. This is best illustrated in the 1932 Chevrolet Confederates.

Styling for the 1932 Chevrolets included an integral grille, longer hood, restyled fenders, stronger frame, downdraft style carburetor, and chrome louvers on the hood for the Deluxe models. The Inline 6-cylinder displaced 194 cubic inches and developed 60 horsepower - remaining competitive with Ford's new Flathead V8 despite the Chevy's traditional inline layout. Overall, the appearance of the Deluxe suggested a "Baby Cadillac" which was a compliment to a car intended for the post-depression middle class market.

The Confederate showcased here evokes "Old Glory" with it's deep Manganese Blue paint accented by red spoke wire wheels and wide whitewall tires. The majestic Chevrolet American Eagle ornament is perched above a spotless chrome grille. Dual sidemount spares compliment it's ruler-straight body. The car enjoyed a frame-off restoration in 2010 including a thorough engine rebuild, and the clutch was replaced in 2011. Offered for sale in time for summer shows and Independence Day festivities. Proudly made AND restored in the U.S.A.  Complete video of this vehicle available.  Call our classic car division at 815-385-8408 for video and/or vehicle information.
