TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE:

THIS 1968 LEGRAND MK 7A WAS BUILT IN HOLLYWOOD CA AND IS CHASSIS #001 OF ONLY SIX BUILT IN THE WORLD.  A TEAM CAR ORIGINALLY RACED BY RED LEGRAND AND HIS DRIVER, BRUCE EGLINGTON.  THIS FORMULA A CAR, DRIVEN BY BRUCE EGLINGTON, WON ITS FIRST RACE, THE 1968 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX AT THE NEWLY FORMED FORMULA CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES AT THE STARDUST RACEWAY IN LAS VEGAS.  THIS RACE FEATURED FORMULA 1 CARS AND THE NEWLY FORMED FORMULA A CARS.  THAT SAME YEAR, IT WAS ALSO RACED BY SAM POSEY AT MOSPORT.  IT WAS THE FASTEST QUALIFIER AND STARTED THE RACE FROM POLE.  HOWEVER, THE CAR DNF’D DURING THE RACE.  IN 1996 MAYER RACING PURCHASED THIS CAR IN NY.  THEY SPENT FOUR YEARS RESTORING THE CAR FROM THE ORIGINAL BLUEPRINTS OBTAINED BY THE V.P. OF GENERAL MOTORS-SOUTH AMERICA.  EVERY PART OF THIS CAR IS REBUILT TO EXACT 1968 SPECIFICATIONS AS RACED IN VEGAS.  A MULTIPLE CONCOURSE WINNER INCLUDING THE PRESTIGIOUS ROAD & TRACK TROPHY.  IN 2009 SAM POSEY WAS REUNITED WITH THE CAR AT ROAD AMERICA AND SIGNED THE BODYWORK.  ORIGINAL FULL SIZE ENGINEERING DRAWINGS AS WELL AS THE ORIGINAL CONSTRUCTION PICTURES OF #001 ARE INCLUDED.  THIS CAR IS PART OF EARLY ROAD RACING HISTORY!
