1969 CHEVROLET DRAGSTER DUELLER II

The Dueler II was built in 1969 as a purpose-built front engine, twin-engine AA/Fuel Dragster, which is the predecessor to today's Top Fuel class. Glen Ely is the original owner and campaigned the dragster on the professional circuit for three seasons. The AA/Fuel Dragster class in that era consisted mostly of single-engine supercharged hemi engine-powered CARS. There were just a few purpose-built twin-engine cars for that class at the time. The fully restored and running Dueler II is the only one remaining and looks just like it did in '69.  WITH TWIN NITRO-METHANE BURNING CHEVY 350 ENGINES IT PRODUCES 2200HP AND RUNS IN THE 6 SECOND RANGE IN THE ¼ MILE.  IT IS ONE OF THE MOST FAMED DRAGSTERS OF ITS KIND.  IT IS EVEN A WORLD RECORD HOLDER!  TILL 2001 GLEN STILL USED THE CAR FOR EXHIBITION, ALWAYS INVITED TO THE CALIFORNIA CRACKLE FEST NOSTALGIC DRAG DAYS.  BOUGHT FROM GLEN BY THE VOLO MUSEUM AS AN ATTRACTION UNTIL SOLD TO THE FLYING GARAGE MUSEUM WHERE IT HAS BEEN ON DISPLAY SINCE.  CAN BE USED AS AN EXHIBITION CAR, AN ATTRACTION FOR YOUR BUSINESS AND WRITTEN OFF AS AN ADVERTISING EXPENSE, PERSONAL COLLECTION OR PRESTIGIOUS MUSEUM PIECE.  THERE IS HISTORY TO THIS ONE!
