Its the third annual Illinois Camaro Club All Camaro Car Show, and more than 200 of the classic Chevrolets are expected to grace the grounds, with registration proceeds going to four charities. The show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Volo Auto Museum, 27582 Volo Village Road, Volo. More than 180 cars have pre-registered and anyone with any of the five generations of Camaros still is welcome to participate. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 at the gate, and includes two passes to the museum, which features about 400 classic, antique, muscle and Hollywood cars. The All Camaro Car Show will feature a DJ and plenty of auto eye candy, with prizes awarded for each generation (1967-69, 1970-81, 1982-92, 1993-02 and 2010 to present), best of show and kids choice. Theres such a variety of Camaros, said McHenry resident Rory Smith, Illinois Camaro Club treasurer and owner of three Camaros a 68, an 84 and a 2002. My wifes first car was a Camaro. Theyre iconic. This years show will benefit A Special Wish, the American Brain Tumor Association, Almost Home Foundation, and Donnys Shining Light, the local chapter of Project Sweet Peas. The public is encouraged to enjoy the show and support the causes. Admission Saturday will be standard museum rates. This is the largest gathering of Camaros from 1967 through today in the area, said Brian Grams, director of the Volo Auto Museum. Last year, they had 180 Camaros and raised $5,500 for the Wounded Heroes Foundation. Ray Chevrolet of Fox Lake sponsors the show, and all registration proceeds go to charity, Smith said, adding that in its first two years, the show has raised $8,400.
