1955 Chrysler Custom Rolls Royce Boat Tail Speedster
Very few custom luxury cars make a bold impression like this dazzling Rolls Royce Custom Speedster showcased here. From the unmistakable Spirit of Ecstasy astride the Rolls Royce grille to the beautifully rendered teak rear deck, not a single detail was overlooked in the effort to realize a unique custom car.The eye-catching Boattail coachwork was inspired by English and French speedsters of the 1930's. The warm veneered appearance of the hand-painted back deck evokes the artful beauty of these exotic European automobiles. Body is all steel throughout and the hood is crafted from durable stainless steel. A leather belt fastens the center-hinged hood just like the Rolls Royce's of the Golden Era. Restoration of this custom model was completed just a week prior to it's arrival at our Classic Car Showroom, with less than 50 miles on the odometer.Performance is delivered by a strong running and dutifully maintained 1955 Chrysler V8 Hemi, with dual Weber 8867 carburetors mated to a Weiand intake. The result is effortless power that's both assertive and exciting. Modern 4 speed automatic transmission makes this luxury custom a pleasure for virtually anyone to drive. A testimonial of this car's appeal is indicated by several Rolls Royce Club event badges decorate the lower panel of the radiator shell, dating from 2001. The Speedster's rakish allure continues into a deceptively roomy cockpit trimmed in genuine burgundy leather. Unlike many classic 1930's era speedsters, the interior provides enough room for the driver and passenger with plenty of elbow room to spare. The spacious cockpit accommodation allows this car to be driven by a much broader range of owners, who may have once considered a classic or reproduction speedster but felt to cramped to drive.
