The car has a 353 CI V8 engine, synchro-mesh transmission, 134 inch wheelbase, an overall length of 203 inches and weighs 4500lbs.  The original list price with options was about $3,452.00.  The 1931 Cadillac models were introduced in August, 1930 and featured V8, V12 and V16 engines.  The Cadillac V8 chassis was 355-A series, featuring thirteen different models.  Six were models by Fisher, and seven special custom styles were by Fleetwood.  Less than one hundred of the dual cowl sport phaeton's were produced similar to this automobile.  The 1931 Cadillac introduced new features this production year that included a chrome stone guard radiator screen, single bar bumper, and dual horns.  The frame was designed new divergent side rails.  For 1931, the rear springs were mounted directly under the frame rails, and the cooling system contained a condenser tank.  The 1931 Cadillac introduced new hood side panels with distinctive ventilator doors, five on each side.  The V8 engine had a five point engine extension similar to the V16.  The Cadillac Phaeton was one of the most sought after Pre-World War II styles.  The body for the 1931 was longer and lower than previous models.  The Cadillac mascot was the goddess and adorns the radiator cap.  The success of the Cadillac brand persisted through the hardship of the 1930's due to their impressive styling and engineering and the established dealer network.  This car beautifully presented and quality and restoration is absolutely stunning in every detail.  Present owner purchased the car after a frame off restoration in 2005.  In his quest for perfection this car was again restored in late 2008, another $45,000.00 invested.  CCCA NATIONAL FIRST PLACE WINNER. Restoration, repainted the car, improving mechanicals and brakes, lighting, instrumentation, re-skinned the rear cowl, re-aligned the doors, and did all those things necessary to make it Concours ready.  Chicago Restoration was the restorer, a nationally well known firm.  The car has only 250+/- miles on the car after restoration.  The odometer has about 89,000 miles on it.  It was at Amelia Island Concours de Elegance in 2010 and the following week, was at the Naples-Marco antique car show where it won Best of Class and People's Choice out of 140 cars.  1st place CCCA.  Everything is in excellent shape, the chrome, interior, paint, under carriage, mechanicals, etc.  The car drives as well as it looks.  A new buyer would need to do nothing to the car to show and drive it.  Complete video of this vehicle available for $50, refunded with vehicle purchase, and includes overnight shipping of video.  Call our classic car division at 815-385-8408 for video and/or vehicle information.
