Cadillac
Cadillac "Standard of the World" was their new slogan and the 1914 fits the bill. Bodies for 1914 were smoother, more integrated appearance. The dash is now nickel plated with clock, speedometer and all instruments. New for 1914 was the hinged "Fat Mans" steering wheel and hinged drivers seat for easier access. With smaller side lights bodies now have the appearance of enclosing the occupants and machinery. The engine is 365.8 cu in with 40 - 50 horse power, only year for the Timken two speed rear axle. This combination makes this HCCA approved brass era car a powerful road machine to cruise at 50 MPH. Ideal for cross country tours. 1914 was the transition from brass era, thus the Gray and Davis headlights and side lights were part brass with nickel bezels. The engine is equipped with a air compressor for the roadside tire problems. This car is absolutely stunning. Body clad in mirror black combined with diamond tuft leather interior. Under the car appears rotisserie restored. All new tires including the rear mount spare mounted on natural finish wood wheels. The engine was remachined to Cadillac standards and trans axle was open and inspected. The big brass is into the 6 figures, this one is an excellent value and opportunity, and comes with original owners manual. A 1914 Cadillac touring was awarded the 1913 De War trophy as result of excellence in electrical and two speed Timken axle performance during a 1000 mile test concluded in September/October 1913.
