#s match motor, trans, rear & color! Frame off resto.

Wow, an SS 454 LS-5 with #s matching motor, trans, rear and colors. If you didn't notice it's red over red! This one has been body off frame restored less then 1,000 miles ago.

EXTERIOR: This is the poster child for muscle cars, red 70 Chevelle with black stripes. This one has a good looking body, I don't see any signs of rust or damage. The paint is very glossy, very slick even to the touch. You can't feel the black painted stripes. Upfront the grill, emblems, headlight bezels, bumper, hood pins have all been replaced. On the sides the wheel well trim, emblems, mirrors, door handles have been replaced. In back the bumper with the correct SS pad, tail light bezels and correct cowbell exhaust tips have been replaced. The front and rear windows have been replaced. All the stainless trim around the windows are new. Jambs are slick, seams are clean. The sill plates, window seals and weatherstrips were replaced. It does have reproduction Goodyear Polyglass tires on completely restored SS wheels with all new trim. The hood is correct for 1970 only.

INTERIOR: Vibrant all red interior. Of course the upholstery, door panels and carpet have been replaced. Also the headliner and matching visors, dash pad, center console, armrests have been replaced. Instrument panel is excellent, no cuts or cracks. Has stock radio. The gauges must have been restored, the odometer shows 880 miles and the clock is ticking. The light in the glovebox works and that is where you will find the owner's manual. The seatbelts are excellent and there is a nice set of embroidered floormats.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: There it is: a vin # matched LS-5 454-365 hp motor. The motor compartment is beautifully detailed, I guess you could say it's over restored because some of the finishes are too glossy. I think it looks sharp. The engine still has very fresh Chevy orange paint, the correct valve covers and air cleaner lid are new. It has stock manifolds and carb. Firewall was painted a gloss red and everything on it looks new- wiper motor, brake booster is cadmium plated, new master cylinder. The inner fenders are gloss black and all the wiring and hoses are properly run. It has the rubber dust shields stapled in place. The hose clamps are GM the, heater hoses are the correct ones with the ribs. New alternator, new spring clamp battery cables. Bottom of the hood is a nice satin black with the insulation.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Wow, the first thing I notice is they sprung the extra coin to get a matching Polyglass reproduction tire and a completely restored SS rim with the new beauty ring. It also has the jack and trunk mat. Trunk floor is very clean. I peaked up inside the quarter panels with a flashlight and dis not find any cuts or welds. They appear to be original quarters. Bottom of the trunk lid and jamb is painted nice. It has the jacking instructions and new weatherstrip.

UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the chassis for a complete restoration. The floors were so clean in this car they actually painted them a gloss red which really shows off the black semi gloss chassis. Upfront the suspension and steering is completely rebuilt- all the bushings, ball joints, shocks etc. It has disc brakes in front. Bottom of the motor is still spotless, has a clean coat of Chevy orange. The fuel pump and starter are new. The turbo 400 transmission also looks like new. It is VIN number matched to the car and the riveted tag also indicates 1970. In back it has the matching number 3.31 12-bolt posi, F-41 suspension which includes boxed control arms and sway bars. Practically everything underneath this car is new- all the fuel and brake lines, fuel tank, exhaust system etc. It has the emergency brake cables hooked up.

The 1970 Chevelle SS is arguably the most popular of all the muscle cars. One like this is hard to find and will not last.
