55,400 miles! Power steering & brakes.

This is a survivor with only 55,400 original miles. A good portion of the paint is claimed to be original! Very clean, unabused desirable car. The story is a man bought it for his wife on their 25th anniversary from Courtesy Chevrolet in Medford Oregon. At some point the car got parked for 25 years. The previous owner is a collector. This car has been serviced including rebuilding the motor and trans. For 1959 GM stylists came up with some of the most distinctive cars ever produced. The 59 Impala featured "cat eye" taillights, exaggerated wings in back, a wraparound rear window, and this one is a "flat top" making it even more unique. The flat top was only around for 2 years, also known as a flying wing hardtop.

EXTERIOR: The body is in excellent all original condition. I don't see rust or damage; there is a spot lifting on the rocker. Portions of the paint are still original and it shows very well. All the chrome, trim, and moldings are original and in good shape. The glass is good original. The original rims and hubcaps are in great shape. It is updated with some radial tires. Jambs have original paint, original weather strips, and high beams are still the original T3 headlights

INTERIOR: The interior has had some restoration the correct upholstery was replaced on the seats also the correct door panels and speckled carpet was replaced the dash area is very good all original condition, cigarette lighter matches the other knobs, and has a vintage set of short Warner gages below the dash. The glove box light still works, has reproduction floor mats, and seatbelts were added in front. Headliners are in excellent shape with matching visors

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original # matching 283 was rebuilt and dyno tuned. The 4 barrel carb was rebuilt. Original manifold's, valve covers, air cleaner, rebuilt generator, power steering hoses replaced, new wiper motor. Very desirable power steering and brakes. Very clean engine bay with original paint.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid original metal.

UNDERSIDE: Rock solid, all original metal. No patches or rot. It's never even been spray painted over. The front end was gone through and balljoints and bushings have been replaced. Optional dual exhaust is quite but does have a hole in the pipe. Looking up at the motor its clean Chevy Orange, has correct canister type oil filter. Rebuilt original Powerglide automatic. The rear end still has assembly line markings on it.

The 59 Impala is a standout year, the flat top is very unique. Low mile cars feel different and this one lives up to that!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
