The Plymouth suburban station wagon were very successful in 1950. The deluxe model featured the right mix of features and economy to appeal to the middle class suburban family. While these deluxe suburbans wouldn't win any awards for it's speed, it was second only to Ford in gas economy. For a family car with room for parents, 3 children and ample luggage, the deluxe P19's were poised for the next big American pastime - the cross country road trip.
