The Auburn Automobile Company is a marque synonymous with American Classic Cars.

The Auburn Automobile Company is a marque synonymous with American Classic Cars. Best known for their iconic Boattail Speedster, Auburn nearly ceased business in 1924 due to lackluster sales despite their acclaim for performance. Industrialist E.L. Cord bought out the company with investment capital and quickly steering Auburn back to profits. Cord ordered the plant to refinish it's inventory of unsold bodies in a wide range of brighter and more colorful paint schemes. Not only were these new Auburns more colorful, they were also an incredible value. Business Week magazine exalted the Auburn, with the memorable bi-line "More car for the money than the public has ever seen".
