8,305 actual miles! Rare and unique sports car.

8,305 actual miles! The tires are still the originals. It was in an Indianapolis collection for many years. These were only produced for 2 years: 772 made in 1974 and 2,134 in 1975. It was a 2 door sports car with safety as a high priority: SV-1 stands for Safety Vehicle 1. Features like a roll over structure, energy absorbing bumpers and no cigarette lighter (you should be focused on driving, not smoking). The most unique feature would be the power operated gullwing doors, never before offered on a production car. Yes, this is a Canadian built car, in the video I mistakenly said it was American.

EXTERIOR: It is a 2 seater sports car with gullwing doors and hidden headlights. The body is not damaged but they were not the best fitting or straightest cars when they were new. Many years ago this car was painted black. We have a 1981 registration and black is listed as the color. It shows very well with a glossy finish. The door function have been significantly improved. The original hydraulic system was upgraded with electric/Air system. It has it's original glass, the rear window has an electric defroster. The original American Racing alloy 15 inch wheels are in very good shape. It even has the original BFG tires!

INTERIOR: It is a very well preserved, unabused interior. It is not worn, cracked, cut or altered. The dash pad looks mint. The entire instrument panel, gauges, vents, heater controls look real good. It has a leather wrapped wheel on a tilt column. It has it's original multiplex radio with digital clock, a pretty big deal in it's day. The carpet has bound edges and isn't worn. The shifter is on the floor in excellent condition, the console is excellent. The seats look new.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: They use the AMC 360 4-barrel V8 motor. The engine compartment is completely stock down to the original smog equipment is still hooked up. It has been cleaned up and detailed very nicely. It has the original air cleaner assembly with the 360 Bricklyn decal. The washer bottle is in tact, wiper motor still looks like new, fan shroud is not broken.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has a hatchback and inside is still excellent. The carpet has bound edges and the side panel upholstery is still actually like new.

UNDERSIDE: The chassis used a steel perimeter frame, an AMC independent suspension, in back a Hotchkis leaf spring system. The trans is actually Mopar's 727 Torqueflite automatic rebranded as a Torque Command. Under this car is respectable original condition. Things look proper, not damaged. It was touched up with black spray paint.

This is one of the most unique cars in car history. It will certainly draw attention and create conversation where ever it goes. They made less then 3,000 and only 1,200 are still known to exist. I'm sure this is one of the lowest mile examples!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
