This 55 Chevy is loaded with accessories. It has 4,684 miles since an older body off restoration. It is like it left the factory.

EXTERIOR: From a collection in Alabama. The body is solid and straight. The restoration is at least 20 years old, any poor body work would be showing by now. It was repainted it's original colors: Gypsy red- Shoreline beige. Standing next to the car it looks perfect. The paint is smooth and glossy. If you look under garage lights, there are tiny pimples in the beige that have been there for years. All of the chrome and stainless trim was restored or replaced. It still shows very well- shiny and straight. It is decked out with front center bumper guard, bumper extensions, rocker moldings, fender spears, dual mirrors, door handle guards and fuel door trim. It has reproduction hubcaps on painted rims with reproduction Silvertown white wall tires. The power convertible top works. It's in very nice shape, the rear window is cloudy. The convertible top boot should replaced. The whitewall tires are reproductions BF Goodrich Silvertowns, original style hubcaps on red painted rims. The windshield is crystal clear, door jambs are clean, weather strips were replaced.

INTERIOR: The interior was restored completely to stock condition. The floor has the correct tight loop carpet with reproduction Chevy mats. It also has the optional heel pad gas pedal. The dash area all looks good. It has a wonderbar radio and a tissue dispenser. The kick panels look nice, the interior lights work. The upholstery and door panels were all replaced. Seat belts were added.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has an original 1955 265 power pack V8 motor with a 4 Barrel carb. It has the stock manifolds, valve covers with the Chevrolet script, stock carb and air cleaner. It has the optional oil filter. The fuel pump looks recent. The fire wall is painted nicely, original trim tag is still attached. It has the optional electric wipers. Everything looks like what a 55 Chevy should look like. The generator, hose clamps, radiator cap, horns, hinges etc are clean and proper. The battery is mounted properly.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is solid metal painted the same shoreline beige as the outside. It has a reproduction white wall that's never been used on a red painted rim. It also has a restored jack assembly, the rubber mat was replaced along with the weather strip and jacking instructions decal.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame at some point. The floors, rockers, braces appear to be solid metal with undercoating. The frame is smooth satin black, the body bushings were replaced. Looking up at the motor it's clean Chevy orange, starter looks fresh. The Powerglide automatic transmission is also clean looking. In back it has the original rear end with 3:55 gears. The front end components look like they've been replaced- the rubber boots around the ball joints look fresh, the bushings on the sway bars, shocks have been replaced etc.

I believe this to be a very well restored 55 Bel Air. It shows some age but still a very straight, good honest car. I drove it home, it performed very well. These are very desirable cars and this one is a great example.
