MacNeish certified real 396-375 hp, original motor & trans. Survivor, 1 repaint

Jerry MacNeish certified. Real L-78 with #s matching motor, trans and rear that it was born with. Original trim tag and colors. Very well preserved, original metal car with 57,980 actual miles.

EXTERIOR: Believed to be an all original metal body. It is very straight and all the panels fit precisely. I don't see any signs of damage or rust, it is smooth from the rockers to the roof. It still has factory pinch welds around the wheel wells. Doors shut like a new car. It was repainted one time in it's original burgundy color. Jambs are still mostly original. It has a very glossy finish. I call it excellent but there are some minor flaws if you look for them. In front the bumper is straight and shiny with just some real minor scuffs. The grill and trim are excellent. The SS grills in the hood look new. The stainless moldings around the windows are excellent, even the anodized trim is shiny and straight with just a few hairline scratches. Moldings down the sides are real nice. In back the SS tail panel and rear bumper are excellent. It has the original chrome dealers emblem on the trunk. The glass is very clear. The weather strips and window seals are in excellent shape. It has five new Coker Wide Oval bias ply redline tires with radial technology. The rims are painted and the poverty caps are excellent.

INTERIOR: It's just about all original inside and it's in excellent condition. It does have a new reproduction rubber mat, no carpet. The seat upholstery, headliner, door panels are in excellent original condition. It has all the original GM seat belts. It has a factory Am-Fm stereo that plays clearly through 4 speakers. The dash pad is mint. The whole instrument bezel and heater control panel look like new. It has reproduction vintage style Stewart Warner tachometer on the column and matching oil and temp gauges under the dash. Dome light works.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Certified numbers matching, original born with 396-375 hp motor.. it was rebuilt 1,500 miles ago to factory specs.. it has 11:1 compression, rectangular port heads with a matched port factory aluminium intake, dual feed Holley carb and solid lifters. New reproduction chrome valve covers and air cleaner. It has deep groove pulleys which is correct for a high revving motor. Detailed out with a Delco battery topper and spring clamp cables. GM hoses and clamps. It has power brakes. The engine bay is a very clean and unmolested.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All original metal including the quarter panels. I don't see any splices. Original spatter paint is still showing but it has been freshened up with a light coat. The paint on the bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb is still original from the factory, it has original weatherstrip and stickers. Trunkmat has been replaced. It has an original jack. Painted rim with a brand new matching radial redline spare.

UNDERSIDE: Underneath of this car is very well preserved and cleaned up nicely. The front end looks like it has been rebuilt. New air shocks in back. Looking up at the motor the Chevy orange is spotless. The casting codes and dates are correct.. HI Perf is cast on the block. New starter and flywheel cover. The transmission was rebuilt 1,500 miles ago. The trans shop suggested to the owner that they preserve the original #s matching trans case. So the internals were put in a correct replacement 1969 case. The original goes with the car. It has a custom dual exhaust with resonators, crossover pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. The metal under the car is all original according to MacNeish. The inner lower quarters, the rockers, braces and floors are all spotless. Painted satin black. Fuel tank, straps and sending look new. It has disc brakes in front.

The L-78 motor is a legendary power house. To be ordered in a lightweight Nova you know the owner was interested in going fast. Many were blown up, to find a certified survivor like this is rare. Also very desirable. Certified, rare and desirable, sounds like an investment to me!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
