This is a real Rally Sport born with the rare combination of yellow with yellow deluxe interior. It's been frame off restored to show condition. Very desirable power steering and power disc brakes, factory gauges and Vintage Air was added.EXTERIOR: I think the car is beautiful. The closer I looked at the body the better it got. It is straight as a rifle barrel, the gaps are excellent. Doors shut nice. No signs of rust or damage, it is smooth all along the bottom. Repainted it's original butternut yellow and it is literally like glass. Nose stripe is painted on smooth to the touch. It is a real Rally Sport, the hideaway lights work with electric motors. It looks like all of the chrome has been replaced including bumpers, emblems, mirrors, handles, vent window frames, tail lights and gas cap. The stainless trim around the wheel wells, top opening and around the windshield is new. New weather strips and window seals. Door jambs are painted real smooth and glossy, sill plates were replaced. The black convertible top was replaced, it's a power top. It is rolling on some highly polished Torque Thrust wheels with performance tires.
INTERIOR: It was born with the rare yellow deluxe interior. Down on the floor the carpet was replaced, it has embroidered mats and a complete set of original GM seat belts. The seats we're reupholstered and the deluxe molded door panels have been replaced. In front of me the dash area is all redone- the metal is painted, new dash pad, visors and mirror. Steering wheel and chrome looks new. It has factory tachometer and gauges. The knobs, lenses, vents are all fresh. It has an updated Vintage Air heater control panel. A retro stereo fits in the factory hole.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a 350 motor, on top is a new Edelbrock intake and carb with electric choke and premium fuel line. It also has a new MSD ignition system. In front of the motor it has the March billet bracket,, pulleys and serpentine belt system. It has a polished alternator and a/c compressor. Modern power steering system. New power brake system with cadmium plated booster. It runs cool with the new aluminum radiator, dual electric fans and aluminum water pump. The engine bay is very proper and tidy- the squirters are hooked up, it has a premium dipstick for the trans. The metal surfaces are smooth and painted nicely.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid metal, it's been spatter painted. Reproduction mat, well liner, weather strip and sticker. It has a trunk light, jack and spare and original "shaker cans" in the corners. Tail light housings look new. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are painted smooth gloss yellow.
UNDERSIDE: It has been body off the frame restored. Underneath of this car has been completely redone. The front end was all apart and completely rebuilt- new bushings, ball joints, springs, shocks, sway bar and steering linkages. new body bushings between the subframe. It has frame connectors to tie the front to the back to prevent body twist. In back it has new custom springs, Bilstein gas shocks and custom sway bar. It has a dual exhaust system with the transverse style muffler. New fuel system including the tank, straps, sending unit and lines. The brake system has been completely upgraded, it has disc at all four corners. New brake lines, e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is clean Chevy orange, new motor mounts, starter, flywheel cover and a finned aluminum oil pan. The Turbo 350 automatic looks fresh and has a chrome pan. The U-joints have been replaced, it has a 10 bolt rear end. The floors have been restored, it's all solid metal painted satin black.
I love the rare color combination, it's very refreshing. This is a high quality restoration with desirable features.
