700 miles on frame off build. FI, posi, ps, pdb.

This has had a meticulous nut and bolt body off the frame restoration. The gentleman that restored this car is a guy that all the local people would absolutely love to have him build their car. He did this for himself, he enjoys building them more than he likes using them. In 10 years he put less then 1,000 miles on it. He started with a 41,000 mile Lemans with clean original metal and gave it many upgrades including the GTO package. All his hard work and efforts are now yours for the taking. I personally drove this car, it handles, perorms and functions excellent.

EXTERIOR: It appears to have clean, all original metal. It is arrow straight with square and flush gaps. The body was stripped to bare and sealed with epoxy primer. Finished in a base coat/clear coat vibrant Viper blue. It is polished smooth and glossy. New windshield. New white convertible power top, painted top frame with new weatherstrips. The door jambs are painted slick, new weather strips. The stainless trim has been polished, bumpers have been rechromed, all new emblems. The grills and tail panel are original. New 15 inch Rallye 1 wheels with BFGoodrich tires.

INTERIOR: Very nice, unabused condition. The upholstery is still the original in excellent shape. The dash area is also mint- the radio, knobs, heater controls etc. New reproduction Rallye gauges including tachometer. It also has a new reproduction deluxe wheel. New carpet, original GM seat belts in front. The door panels and armrests look new. All the interior and instrument lights are blue.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 389 engine was given a performance rebuild. It's balanced and bored 60 over. It has 12: 1 compression, forged flat top pistons, Crane cam and valve train. It has 77 heads that were ported and polished. On top is an aluminum intake with a computerized fuel injection system, an Edelbrock throttle body and fuel rails. It also has an MSD distributor and ignition system and Doug Thorley headers. Inside the car is a custom built megasquirt computerized control panel and data logger. The metal engine bay is perfectly smooth, clean metal with a satin black finish. It features power steering and a power brake booster with a dual reservoir master. The Optima battery has heavy duty cables. Upgraded aluminum radiator with new shroud and clutch fan. The brackets, pulleys, nuts and bolts look like they've been replaced. New alternator. The motor is dressed up with new chrome valve covers and air cleaner.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very clean original metal. I don't see any patches in the trunk floor, I don't see any splices in the quarters. They appear to be original. Neatly spatter painted, under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted slick like the car. It does have new two piece trunk mat, well liner and weatherstrip. The correct jack assembly is restored like new. It also has a matching new Rallye 1 wheel on a never used BF Goodrich tire.

UNDERSIDE: The body was lifted off of the frame and it was completely disassembled and restored like a new car underneath. The front end steering and suspension was completely rebuilt. All new bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, springs, shocks etc. Upgraded quick ratio steering box. It's detailed like new. In back it has Edelbrock upper and lower control arms, sway bar, new springs, shocks and bushings. The brake system has been completely rebuilt or replaced. It is upgraded to disc in front, e-brake cables are new, upgraded stainless steel brake lines. The fuel system is all new, the tank is shiny, has a built in fuel pump and stainless steel fuel lines. Great sounding has 3 inch custom exhaust with crossover pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. It's all welded, no clamps. Looking up at the motor it is spotless, has Powermaster high torque starter. Upgraded TKO Tremec 5-speed trans with performance clutch. There's a rebuilt driveshaft with safety loop. In back is a new 3.55 Eaton posi. The entire chassis is detailed in a satin black. The floors are such clean metal, they were painted the same glossy body color. The body and chassis were reunited with all new bushings.

There is no way to tell this is not a real GTO by looking at it, other then the price tag would be 20 grand more! Turnkey ready to enjoy.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
