Frame off restored. Loaded- a/c, gauges, console, power windows!

Frame off restored, very desirable options including a big block, 4-speed, factory air and gauges. I bought it from the man that gave it a 2 year restoration. He bought it in 2010 from an estate, it had been sitting for a long time. There was no visible rust or damage and it was loaded up with a list of very desirable features so he decided it was worthy of a quality restoration back to new. The restoration is documented with many photos from start to finish and receipts.

EXTERIOR: We have photos of the body pulled from the frame and it was stripped down to a bare shell. It has rust free, clean original metal. The only panel replaced is the driver's door skin. It is smooth even all along the bottoms with no signs of rust or damage. The gaps are square and flush. The doors shut like a new car. Repainted it's original code 69 Cortez silver. The metal flake is laid out evenly, the clear coat is polished like glass. The black SS stripes are painted on and are smooth to the touch. Upfront it looks like everything was replaced including the bumper, bumper guards, grill, bezels and emblems. Also the marker lights, emblems, correct antenna, grills on the hood, mirrors, door handles are replaced. In back the tail lights, reverse lights, trim and bumper look new. The stainless moldings around the bed and around the windows have been replaced. It has a new windshield, vinyl top, window seals and weatherstrips. Door jambs are painted real slick even up by the hinges, sill plates are new. The SS wheels are restored, they have new trim. Firestone tires look fresh.

INTERIOR: It looks new from floor to ceiling. They used premium Legendary Interior kit. Down on the floor is new black carpet and embroidered floor mats. It also has original set of GM seat belts. The bucket seats have been recushioned and reupholstered. The center console has a Hurst 4-speed sticking out of it. In front of me the dash pad, vents, heater control panel and knobs look new. It has the factory gauge cluster with the tachometer in the middle, it also has a clock. It has a rebuilt factory AM/FM radio. The tilt column has a rosewood deluxe steering wheel. Overhead is a new headliner, visors and a working dome light. Below the dash is a set of Stewart Warner gauges and it also has a cup holder attached. There's some minor scuffs on the aluminum console trim. Behind the seat is carpeted and there's a velcro flap that opens up to a storage compartment.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Rebuilt period correct 396. It has an aluminum intake and a set of coated headers. New reproduction chrome valve covers and air cleaner. All the components look real nice- the brackets, pulleys, alternator, new power steering pump etc. The air conditioning system has been restored, compressor was replaced, updated with R134a freon. New heater control valve. New cadmium plated brake booster, new master cylinder. It has an aluminum radiator, new shroud and clutch fan. Wiring is all neatly run. It has new wiper motor, squirters are hooked up. New hood insulation, correct horns and fuel filter. The battery has a Delco topper with spring clamp cables. All the metal surfaces are smooth and painted nicely.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed is all smooth, clean straight metal. I don't even see a dent or dimple. It's been painted just as glossy as the outside. The tailgate opens real easily, under the tailgate is rust free metal painted slick. It even has the original rubber flap.

UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame. The chassis was completely disassembled, sandblasted and painted. It has the F-41 sport suspension which includes sway bars and boxed rear control arms. The components were all rebuilt or replaced. The front end had all this bushings, tie rods, ball joints, springs and shocks replaced. The rear suspension was rebuilt as well with new control arms, bushings, air shocks and springs. The fuel system was replaced including the tank, straps, sending unit and fuel lines. The brake system was upgraded with disc at all four wheels, brake lines and hoses were replaced. It has a dual exhaust with crossover pipe, Flowmaster mufflers and chrome tips. Looking up at the motor it's clean, starter was rebuilt. Correct Muncie 4-speed transmission, replaced clutch. Correct 12 bolt rear end, rebuilt with 3.31 posi gears. The floors, braces and rockers are clean metal, they've been painted satin black.

This is a special vehicle, the cosmetic and mechanical condition is exceptional. Really loaded for an El Camino too. The new owner will be very happy!
