34,500 actual miles, 1 owner! Swivel seats & digital tachometer.
1 owner car! 34,473 actual miles. Original interior and paint. The motor compartment and underside were detailed for show.Only 1,097 Hursts built total in 1973. Each car was shipped to Hurst's facility where they were given a padded vinyl top with custom quarter windows and H/O stickers. Also gold stripes, a set of rear facing louvers and a flexible hood ornament. The inside got a dual gate shifter. This one has the optional digital tachometer and it works. These cars had a low survival rate because unique parts made it difficult to restore. This is a rare find.
EXTERIOR: No rust, no damage. All original metal. It still has 95% of it's original Cameo white paint. It still shows really well. Over all smooth and glossy with just some minor little flaws. The decal stripes are original and the edges are a little nicked up. A new set of stripes are included. In the video I said the sun roof was added, it is actually original. The original says it was there when he bought it new and I found an article talking about the optional sunroofs. The chrome is bright on the bumpers and headlight bezels. The stainless trim around all the windows is straight and shiny. The glass is crystal clear. Original weather strips are soft.
INTERIOR: A very rare feature is the Hurst digital tachometer and it works! If you find one they rarely work. It is mounted to the same console that is home to the Hurst dual gate shifter. Another cool feature is the swivel bucket seats. The carpet is excellent. The upholstery is really nice considering it's original, there are tiny cracks right at at the seams. The door panels are practically mint. The dash pad and the entire instrument panel is excellent. All the bezels, vents, lenses look great. It has a factory Am-Fm stereo. The sport wheel is not worn smooth like most of them. that It has the factory gauge cluster. It was a non smoker- the cigarette lighter and ash tray have not been used. The headliner is excellent with some discoloring. All the seat belts are here including the shoulder belts. The plastic trim is still real nice.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Number match 455 engine. It was hopped up with a hotter cam, polished aluminum intake with an Edelbrock carb, headers and a Mallory Ignition. The engine bay and the firewall is pristine clean metal. Factory air conditioner, the compressor needs to be replaced. It also features power steering and power brakes. New alternator. It also has an auxiliary electric fan. The motor compartment is detailed.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: I love to see factory spatter paint, typically it's been sprayed over with a spray can. This one has it's original gray and white paint in excellent condition. No rust, cuts or splices. It has an original BFG spare on a matching SS III wheel. The jack looks like new, it's mounted properly. It has the original trunk mat, the weather strip is excellent.
UNDERSIDE: The Hursts come with rally suspension which included sway bars, stiffer shocks and springs. It is detailed underneath like a body off frame restoration. The front end looks like it was all apart and rebuilt. The ball joints, bushings, springs, shocks etc look new. The brakes are redone, disc in front, e-brake cables are hooked up. Custom 3 inch exhaust with a crossover pipe, polished stainless mufflers and turn down tips. Painted fuel tank, new straps. Looking up at the motor it has a chrome oil pan and a polished high torque starter. The vin number matching Turbo 400 has a finned aluminum pan. The floors are super clean metal, all painted semi gloss black. No signs of rust, cuts or patches.
This was used as a weekend show car, that's why it was kept in such nice shape. This is an opportunity to buy a rare, very cool piece of muscle car history!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
