Absolutely a real SS 396, born with a 4-speed, cowl induction, bucket seats and gauges. Built in Canada, they saved their records. We have a notarized letter from GM of Canada verifying this car's authenticity. It was born like you see it. It also has the protect-o-plate which verifies it's originality too. #s matching motor. It's been body off frame restored.

EXTERIOR: The body is actually very clean and straight looking. There is only 1 small bubble, it's on the bottom of the passenger door. The driver's 1/4 panel is original, the passenger's was replaced at factory seams. It has a factory cowl induction hood with flapper door and hood pins. It was repainted it's original Autumn Gold color. The clear coat has a very smooth, glossy finish. The stripes are painted on correctly and are smooth to the touch. In front the bumper, emblems, grill, headlight bezels, lenses have all been replaced. It has 4 of the correct T-3 headlights. The stainless moldings around the windows, wheel wells and rain gutters were replaced. New emblems, door handles and mirror. The back bumper is straight and shiny but a little bit worn. Windshield is new. Door jambs are painted nice, bottom edge of the doors are clean. The window seals, weather strips are replaced. New sill plates. The SS wheels look new. BFG tires look new.

INTERIOR: Inside the car looks very good. It has the factory gauges and tachometer. The whole dash area is in very good shape, noting is cut or broken. The steering wheel is new. The bucket seats have recushioned and upholstered. Rear seat has new upholstery. The factory center console is real nice with a new Hurst shifter. The carpet and sill plates were replaced. Door panels are in very nice shape. The headliner was replaced. Interior lights work.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has it's original vin number matching 396-350 horsepower motor. The casting codes and dates check out. The codes on the engine match the protect-o-plate. It is upgraded to 375 hp with a little hotter cam, Edelbrock aluminum high rise with a dual feed FST carburetor, a set of headers and HEI Ignition. On top it has the cowl induction air cleaner assembly. It has power steering and power brakes. New cadmium plated booster, new master. The squirters are hooked up. It has GM radiator hoses, new shroud and clutch fan. I noticed it has 60 pounds oil pressure at an idle.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid trunk floor. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted smooth and glossy. New weatherstrip, stickers and seat insullation.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for restoration. It has new body bushings. It's clean uncut metal that's been prepped and painted semi gloss black. The front end looks like it's been completely apart and rebuilt. The bushings, steering components, shocks have all been replaced. This car came with the F-41 suspension which means it has front and rear sway bars and boxed control arms. The fuel system looks new including the tank, straps and sending unit. Custom dual exhaust with an X pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. Disc brakes in front and it all looks new. It has stainless braided hoses, new brake lines, the e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it's fresh Chevy orange, the correct starter looks fresh. Correct Muncie 4-speed trans looks fresh. It has a 12 bolt rear end.

Not a $100,000 restoration but a very nice car. What you will have is one of a few 1970 Super Sports with undeniable documentation saying it is real!
