59,000 mile, rust free CA car. Performance upgrades

Rust free, California born and raised. 59,430 miles, 2 owners total. It was bought from the 1st owner with original "pink slip" (California title) in 2003. The 2nd owner is a collector I happen to know, he brought it to Illinois and gave it a performance make over. He started with an exceptionally clean car.

EXTERIOR: Clean, original metal. It still had it's original paint when the 2nd owner bought it. It was media blasted bare and zero rust was found. The factory spotwelds are still in tact around the wheel wells and lower 1/4 panels. It is laser straight from every angle, no rust or damage. Repainted it's original Firemist Red color. The metal flake is laid out evenly, the clear is polished like glass. A fiberglass hood with a 4 inch cowl was added. It also has front and rear spoilers. 15 inch SS wheels have been restored. They are wrapped in reproduction Wide Oval tires. Original bumpers are still shiny. Emblems, grill, headlight bezels, windshield moldings and taillights are excellent. The glass is real clear. Jambs are painted real nice, the weather strips are real good original.

INTERIOR: This is a very well kept, unabused original interior. Very clean dash, nothing cracked or cut. The woodgrain, chrome bezels, heater controls, vents and even the original AM radio are excellent. Steering wheel confirms low miles, it's not worn. The seat cushions are still plump, the upholstery looks like new. The door panels and all the plastic interior trim is excellent. It has a full center console with a Hurst competition shifter. Excellent carpet, has full set of original floor mats. The headliner is tight as a drum, no tears. Dome light works, even the glove box light works. A Monster Tachometer and Autometer oil and temp gauges were carefully added without damaging the car.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Pro built 454 by R&R Motorsports. Bored to a 460, dyno tuned at 462 hp at the rear wheel which would be about 25% higher at the motor. It is internally balanced, steel crank, steel rods, forged aluminum 10.5:1 pistons, roller cam and rockers. GM rectangular port heads have screw in studs and Cower push rods. It has an original LS-6 aluminum intake and LS-6 Holley 850 carb. MSD coil, distributor and hidden 6AL ignition. It runs cool with an aluminum water pump and radiator. $200 Evans Coolant was used. All the components are clean and proper. The metal surfaces are smooth and painted nice. It features power steering and power brakes.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: I love seeing original factory trunk spatter, it's a rarity! This is one of the cleanest original trunks I've seen. No rust, original metaI and paint. Even the red under the trunk lid and jamb is original. Original trunk mat and weatherstrip. Original Wide Oval tire on restored SS wheel. Original jack assembly.

UNDERSIDE: Wow, the floors are bone dry, clean original metal. No rust, the factory primer has never been spray canned over. Looking up at the motor it is fresh! Starter was rebuilt, new fuel pump. Clean bellhousing, new dust cover. Original Saginaw 4-speed trans. Centerforce clutch and aluminum flywheel. Solid u-joints and balanced drive shaft. Powder coated Heavy Duty Ford 9 inch rear with 3.89 posi gears was installed. Custom exhaust with fat pipes, crossover and transverse Flowmaster muffler. The front end is completely rebuilt- balljoints, bushings, steering components etc. It is upgraded with Koni gas shocks all around. In back it has urethane bushings and old school traction bars. The brakes were redone. Disc in front, H.D. drums in back. E-brake is hooked up.

Someone will get a great car. I know the 2nd owner. He professionally builds high performance cars, he built this for himself. He found an amazingly clean car to begin with. The fit, finishes and workmanship are impressive.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
