Rare & exciting! Original with only 1 repaint!

Only 1,512 built total, ever! AMC wanted a muscle car to compete with the big three automakers. Easy, they just stuffed a big motor in a compact car. The typically very mundane Rambler Rogue was their car of choice. With the help of Hurst performance, they created a car that could blow the doors off some pedigreed muscle cars. At the time there wasn't much budget for AMC to promote. The car needed to be its own billboard, so it was given a wild appearance that was at the time considered obnoxious. Today it is an exciting car and highly sought after. This one is a very solid, complete car that's mostly original. Maintained as needed, original drivetrain. Verified authentic by the X and M in the vin.

EXTERIOR: It certainly makes a statement. The red sides and blue stripe are outlined in black. The body on this car really appears to be dry. The metal is clean and straight. All 4 wheel well lips are folded in for the wide tires, this was done at the factory on all SC/ Ramblers. It had a 1 time repaint years ago. It shows well but isn't perfect. It has its original "snout" ram air scoop and hood pins. It also has its original bullet style mirrors. Each car also features a custom grill, black tail panel and special emblems. As if the red, white, and blue paint wasn't already enough- AMC thought the wheels should be blue too! The wheels were just painted, the owner left the trim rings off, but they are included with the car too. They are wrapped in radial redline tires.

INTERIOR: It is essentially the same as a Rambler inside other than red, white and blue headrests and an Sun Tachometer on the column. Both front seats recline. It appears to be in original condition including the carpet, door panels and upholstery. Original waffle print headliner. The dash area is exceptional, there are no cracks in the dash pad, the instrument panel is excellent. It has a rare radio delete plate, no antenna on the car either.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has its original 390-315 HP motor with original # tag on the valve cover. The ram air induction system is complete and functional. It looks stock manifolds, ignition system etc. The cap, coil and wires look new. It has power brakes. The engine bay looks to have clean metal.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Trunk is rock solid. The metal looks original, the paint under the trunk lid even looks original. It has a mat and a spare.

UNDERSIDE: Each SC Rambler was equipped with heavy duty suspension. This includes a swaybar, staggered rear shocks and torque links. Dual exhaust has Flowmaster mufflers. Looking up at the motor it has 390 cast right on the block. Correct T-10 4-speed. 3.54 Twin Grip rear end. The floors are rock solid. Overall original condition.

This is one of the rarest, most exciting muscle cars built. It certainly creates conversation wherever it goes. It is a mostly unrestored example, that appears to be rust free and complete.
