The Shelby Cobra was embarrassing the Corvettes on the racetrack. In response, the Grand Sport was developed. It was a much lighter, high-performance version. Only 5 were made. This faithful reproduction by Mongoose Motorsports is an exciting car. The looks and performance are impressive. Less than 600 miles since built.

EXTERIOR: Wow, what is it? It is a high-quality faithful reproduction of the original Grand Sport. All the scoops, flares, louvers, and spoilers are authentic. The body is excellent shape, straight and no damage. It fits nicely. Reproduction clear headlight covers, correct taillights. Racing style gas cap, functional rear end oil cooler behind the rear window. The Daytona metallic blue paint has a smooth and glossy finish. Painted on over the top stripes. Windows were replaced. Weatherstrips were replaced. Vintage style knock off wheels with performance tires.

INTERIOR: Very clean inside. Even though it is minimal like a race car, there are a few nice upgrades. It has cold a/c, power windows, a stereo and even a 12 volt receptacle. Full set of Pro Comp gauges, tilt column with a leather grip wheel. Nicely cut carpet with bound edges. Custom seats have racing harness to hug you in place. It has a roll bar. All the trim is neatly painted gray.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very meticulous installation of all the components including a modern Corvette motor. It's an LT4 350-330 hp with aluminum heads, fuel injection and coated headers. Custom heat and air conditioning system. The front of the motor has serpentine belt system, modern alternator, and power steering. It runs cool with an aluminum radiator and electric fan. It also features power steering. Modern electric wiper system. It is spotless, right down to the nuts and bolts.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has an actual trunk lid that opens to a good size compartment. Inside is lined with gray carpet, under the lid is glossy blue. A gel cell battery with a billet hold down and disconnect switch is located in the trunk.

UNDERSIDE: It is new underneath. Mongoose Motorsports tube frame with C4 Corvette independent suspension front and rear. Upgraded adjustable coilover gas shocks and swaybars. The chassis all painted a gloss gray finish. Custom fuel tank with a Weldon high performance fuel pump and filter system, stainless braided hoses. Disc brakes at all 4 wheels, e-brake is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is very clean, high torque starter. It's a 6-speed transmission with hydraulic clutch. The rear end has an external oil cooler with braided hoses.

This is a very meticulously built car. It looks new top to bottom because it practically is, less than 600 miles! Very exciting car, it will get tons of attention. Shifting those gears, hearing the side exhaust while tearing up a curvy road is a blast. You can also just cruise, the a/c keeps you comfortable, 6th gear pushes you down the highway effortlessly.
