#s match! 61,000 miles, original metal. Ps, pdb.

This is a genuine, unmolested Hemi Road Runner. #s matching, born with drivetrain. Original metal with a $45,000 paint job. Mechanics were completely rebuilt by Mopar expert Kilpatrick Engine ($35,000). Only 1,109 Road Runners were born with a Hemi in 1968. This one is an outstanding driver; it has rare power steering and power disc brakes too. The car has 61,121 actual miles. A very fussy customer/collector bought it in all original condition. He had it restored while retaining its original components. He would go out of his way to rebuild parts instead of replacing them. He has put 1,000 miles on the car. He says as good as the car looks; it drives even better!

EXTERIOR: The original paint was stripped to bare metal. It was taken down to a shell including the entire front clip was removed. We have photo documentation. All original metal with minimal repairs. Every inch is laser straight, no issues at all. The panels fit precisely. The original B5 Blue was reapplied better than new. It is polished like a mirror, no issues. The black hood patch was correctly painted. Door jambs are spotless. Rechromed bumpers. The grill and tail panel look new. The door handles are new, stainless trim is polished. Windshield was replaced. All the weatherstrips and seals were replaced. It's rolling on 15 inch painted steel rims, wider in back with poverty hubcaps. They are wrapped in radial BFG tires.

INTERIOR: Door panels, upholstery, carpet and headliner look like new. The dash was apart and restored. The bezels, knobs, heater controls are all excellent. It's not cut or broken. Factory in dash tachometer and Am 8-track. Original glovebox liner with ink stamp. All the bits and pieces are very nice- armrests, visors, steering wheel etc. Complete set of seatbelts. It does have Cobalt oil and temp gauges under the dash.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original born with, vin # matching Hemi. The 426 was built by Mopar expert Kilpatrick Engine. It was completely rebuilt; spec sheet and invoices are included. Rebuilt original dual 4 barrel carbs. It was upgraded with TTI headers. Original chrome on the air cleaner. Every component looks like new, everything was installed properly. Detailed out with correct plug wires, hoses and clamps and a Mopar reproduction battery. The engine bay is pristine metal painted as slick as the car. Original fender tag, # on core support matches. 2 very desirable factory options include power steering and brakes.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rust free metal. Under the trunk lid and jamb are as slick as the car. Weatherstrip, sticker and mat were replaced. It has jack assembly, no spare.

UNDERSIDE: Completely rebuilt and detailed steering and suspension. The rare original power steering pump and steering box were rebuilt. The original brakes were rebuilt, not replaced. It has disc in front, e-brake assembly is hooked up. New brake lines. Fuel tank, straps, sending unit and fuel lines were replaced. Custom TTI 3 inch exhaust with x-pipe, Flowmaster mufflers and correct chrome tips. Bottom of the motor is clean, we posted picture of the casting code and date. Original 727 Torqueflite automatic was completely rebuilt by Kilpatrick. Original torque converter was rebuilt and reused. Rebuilt driveshaft. Rebuilt heavy duty Dana 60 with 3.54 Sure Grip gears. All original rust free floors, frame rails, rockers etc. It's a factory undercoat car, the bottom was cleaned and freshened up with some black paint.

Conclusion: This is one of a small amount of Hemi Road Runners that still exist and actually have the motor they were born with. This one is also rare to have power steering and brakes. It's a "right" car, no surprises other than good ones! Excellent investment, I remember selling these for $35,000 and that seemed like a lot at the time. Lol

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
