9,638 actual miles! Original survivor. Excellent condition inside and out!

Only 9,638 actual miles! 2 owner car kept in excellent original condition. These were instant collector cars in an era when muscle cars were all but dead. They were also low production: only 2,102, as compared to 20,193 in 1987! This is probably one of the nicest ones that still exist. It was special ordered new by Vernon Mehler at Mallory Buick. We have a pile of original documenttion including order sheet, invoice, build sheet, warranty literature, glovebox pouch and even the owner's guide cassette tape. He new the car was special and planned on treating it as such. He paid $450 for paint/upholstery protection! That was a lot considering the GN package was only $675 and the car was $13,512 total. The 2nd owner purchased it in 2016 with 9,501 miles. He was a dealer and just put the car away, he did not even register the car. We purchased it from him.

EXTERIOR: You can have it in any color as long as it's black! These also feature front and rear spoilers, blacked out trim, sport mirrors, special wheels and a scooped hood. This car still looks practically new, the original paint is smooth and glossy. The hood and trunk were repainted under waranty at the dealer in 1985, we have the invoice. All the blacked out trim is stll in excellent shape. The grill is immaculate, glass is crystal clear, bumper rub strips are excellent. All the weatherstrips are still soft. The factory 15 inch aluminum wheels are excellent and still wear original Eagle GT tires. Most of the time the tires were black, this one was ordered with white letters.

INTERIOR: It is a good looking, sporty interior. It is still like new and it's original! There's even plastic wrap still covering parts of the dash trim. The carpet, upholstery and headliner still look fresh. All the plastic trim, knobs, ashtrays,dash pad, armrests, seatbelts still look fresh to. Now these come with a tachometer, leather wrapped sport wheel and a shifter in the console. This car was also ordered with a tilt wheel, power windows and locks, fm-casette stereo, cruise control and a rear window defroster. It is like a time capsule inside.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood you'll find the turbo charged 3.8L V6 with sequintial fuel injection. It will surprise you when that turbo kicks in and the tires break loose! This one is completley stock as it left the factory. Everything is in place and proper. It is also exceptionally clean. Other factory features include air conditioning, power steering, power brakes and cruise control.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is all original and in like new condition. Under the lid and jamb are gloss black. The original stickers and weatherstrip are in place. Inside it has factory chip gaurd paint and the carpet mat are mint. The jack and spare have probably never been out of the car.

UNDERSIDE: Underneath is very clean and original. There is no rust, the suspension parts are smooth black metal. The floors were undercoated at the dealer and still look fresh. The Grand National came with a Gran Touring suspension, swaybars and quick ratio steering. The exhaust sytem is still original! Disc brakes in front, drum in back and they are working properly. Looking up at the motor it is clean. it has its original 200R-4 overdrive automatic trans and a 8.5" rear end.

I am very impressed now that I have looked closer. I think it is one of the best preserved Grand Nationals I have found. This is "the" muscle car of the 80s! Values will continue to climb because there is so much love for these cars. This is one of the best examples there is.
