300 miles on body off restoration!

800 hours on a body off frame restoration. Only 300 miles since completed. Very tidy in and out, top to bottom! Sounds great too.

EXTERIOR: All original metal according to the restorer. It is laser straight! I don't see any rust, damage, poor body work at all. Code 69: Cortez Silver. The metal flake was laid out evenly. The clear coat looks wet, it's polished smooth and glossy. The jambs are slick. All new exterior trim including the grill, emblems, bumpers, marker lights, moldings etc. It has SS emblems and tail panel. New windshield. Weather strips and seals were replaced. 15 inch aluminum Weld wheels with BFG tires.

INTERIOR: Very tidy. New carpet down on the floor along with a Hurst shifter sticking out of the hump. It has bucket seats, they've been recushioned, reupholstered and have new headrests, chrome, and plastic trim. Door panels have been replaced, window cranks and handles are new. In front of me the dash pad is new. The instrument panel is in great shape. It has an Ididit tilt column with a cushion grip wheel. It has Sun Pro gauges. Clean ashtray and correct cigarette lighter. Glovebox pouch has the owner's manual. Up above the headliner, visors, mirror and dome light were replaced. It has a retro stereo with Alpine 6x9 speakers.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Rebuilt 396 engine with a hotter cam. On top is a Performer aluminum intake, Edelbrock carb with an electric choke and a Flame Thrower HEI ignition system. All the components are in great shape. Power steering pump, master cylinder, AND wiper motor have been replaced. Upgraded BeCool aluminum radiator. The engine bay is detailed nicely. It has hood insulation.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the lid and the jamb are painted smooth and glossy. New sticker, weatherstrip and mat. Inside is pristine metal, I don't see any cuts or patches. It is neatly spattered painted. Very clean jack and spare assembly.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame. The front-end steering and suspension has been completely apart and rebuilt. In back the bushings and shocks were replaced. The fuel system is replaced including the tank, straps, sending unit and lines. The brake system has been completely rebuilt; it has disc in front. New lines, hoses, and e-brake cable. Great sounding dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Looking up at the motor it's spotless Chevy Orange, the starter looks new. Muncie 4-speed was rebuilt, new shift linkage. Rebuilt drive shaft connects to a 3.55 posi 10 bolt rear. The floors and frame rails are smooth clean metal that has been prepped and painted semi gloss.

If you like tidy you will be very satisfied with this car. It's a fresh restoration. Runs and functions as good as it looks!
