Whether you're here for Volo Cars, Jurassic Gardens, delicious food experiences or to enjoy a narrated ride, we have made improvements to ensure you enjoy your visit and keep coming back for more.
Four Big Changes From 2024
The past year at Volo Museum was nothing short of transformative. From extensive renovations to exciting new exhibits and attractions, 2024 was a landmark year for the museum. Our family-owned destination is known for its diverse collection of classic cars, Hollywood vehicles and immersive experiences. That is why we are introducing major upgrades to the infrastructure, accessibility and guest experiences. Here's a look back at our biggest changes and milestones over the past year:
1. Exterior Renovations
One of the most significant upgrades was the revamped entrance to the museum, designed to enhance visitor flow and improve accessibility. The new grand front porch entrance to the Carousel room adds a touch of classic elegance while creating a more welcoming arrival experience.
Part of our accessibility upgrades include the installation of automatic door openers and paved parking spaces for handicapped visitors. For those exploring the vast outdoor areas, we added two miles of newly paved roads to guide you along the exhibits whether you are on foot, in a wheelchair or pushing a stroller. We also added handicap-accessible buttons to all our pathways.
2. Attraction Renovations
2024 also saw major renovations across our existing attractions to elevate the museum's offerings. We remodeled the boat houses, repainted the Inception Train and upgraded these popular attractions:
- Titanic museum: We expanded the Titanic museum, adding the Benjamin Guggenheim car for more immersive storytelling.
- Military museum: The military museum got a few fun upgrades, including the Davey Crockett atomic bomb, a rare Cold War-era artifact.
- Ghostbusters exhibit: The Ghostbusters exhibit got a refresh to keep the fan-favorite attraction engaging and up to date.
3. Gift Shop
We added some new retail and food options for our visitors. Our gift shop now carries new Svengoolie-themed merchandise to celebrate the beloved horror host. We also expanded the museum-branded merchandise and added exclusive Rock-afire Explosion merch made in partnership with the original creators.
The food court now features a cotton candy machine and a variety of other sweet treats alongside Blues Brothers Coffee at the ice cream parlor, which offers a fresh selection of themed beverages.
4. New Exhibits
Volo Museum is known for its ever-growing list of attractions, and 2024 was no exception. Last year, we added a Munsters Go-Kart, a new music organ in Showroom 4, a Barbie display and Barbie Photo-Op box, a Ferris Wheel near the Carousel building and a few extras:
- Ridable triceratops: We installed a new Jurassic Gardens feature that lets guests get up close to a lifelike animatronic dinosaur.
- Hot rod stagecoach: You can find a custom-built hot rod stagecoach, merging classic Western aesthetics with high-performance engineering.
- Simpsons car: We added an iconic vehicle to the Hollywood vehicle collection, delighting fans of this long-running animated series.
- 1940 Ford truck: You will see a beautifully restored classic truck that adds to the museum's already impressive vintage car collection.
- The Duessenberg: We have the Duesenberg from the Monopoly Go Commercial, a stunning, historically significant vehicle recently featured in a commercial with Chris Pratt and Jason Momoa.
What's Coming to Volo Museum in 2025
We plan a variety of Volo Museum updates throughout the year, from more exhibit renovations to station rides, new exhibits and an exciting feature on Tubi. As we prepare for another stellar year, we install a brand-new auxiliary ticket booth to keep museum entry running smoothly on busy days.
Exhibit Additions
In 2025, we plan to upgrade the pathway between Showrooms 2 and 3, making it more accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. You will also see some renovations to the Jurassic Gardens and military exhibit.
- Titanic museum: We are not done with the Titanic exhibit just yet — this year, we are adding a scale replica of the Big Piece, a large section of the ship's starboard hull extracted from the wreck in 1998.
- Snow exhibits: The Snowmobile Hallway and Snow Machine Exhibit will be revamped to showcase even more modern and vintage snow machines.
- Crime and Punishment: Something shockingly good is coming to the Crime and Punishment exhibit. We are adding an authentic electric chair to enhance the educational aspect of this section of the museum.
Volo on TV
Look out for our Expedition Files episode coming later this year, along with an in-depth Volo Museum Documentary on Tubi. We will explore the museum's history and impact and provide more behind-the-scenes insights.
Volo Station Rides
The Volo Station offers seasonal orientation tours, but we are getting ready to up our own game with new rides and experiences. The Ice Age Tours will transport visitors back to a prehistoric era, offering insights into the creatures and environments of the Ice Age. Using a trackless trail system, these tours promise a fun journey through time.
Visitors can also look forward to thrilling Monster Truck Rides, which offer a unique perspective of the museum grounds.
New Exhibits
We are getting ready to provide you with new educational and immersive experiences with these exhibits coming up this year:
- Rock-afire Explosion Animatronic Show and Courtyard: A fully restored, interactive experience featuring the legendary animatronic band, complete with an exclusive Volo-themed song written by the original creators.
- Live reptiles: Along with Jurassic Gardens' upgrades, the educational and conservational organization Scale World Order (SWO) will bring live reptiles to thrill park visitors.
