This regal series 75 Fleetwood convertible sedan is 1 of only 53 produced in 1938
The Cadillac series 75 model line was best expressed in Fleetwood livery, appearing nothing less than fit for a king. Cadillac had completely absorbed the independent coachbuilder by the early 1930's. However, Fleetwood's leather and wood craftsmanship methodology persisted beyond GM's acquisition, in order to meet the standards of Cadillac's most discriminating customers. The tastefully understated seam and stitch design that made Fleetwood Cadillacs famous can be seen in models throughout the 1930's. Fleetwood trim was an option for model-lines across the board, from the approachable series 60's to the imposing series 90's, powered by Cadillac's enormous multi-cylinder engines. This regal series 75 Fleetwood convertible sedan is 1 of only 53 produced in 1938. The feature that makes this example especially distinguished among it's peers is the special-ordered all leather upholstery that was typically reserved for the top of the line series 90 models. The divider partition and glass clearly identify this example as a chauffeured automobile. The car enjoyed a thorough restoration some years ago when a coat of Chantel blue paint was applied. This lustrous deep indigo hue contrasts beautifully with the fancy burl wood trim and black leather seating. The overall presentation is outstanding: upholstery, dashboard and exterior are handsomely detailed. The Cadillac Flathead V8 runs strong and quiet, just as it did when new. The canvas convertible top is clean and free of rips and exposure. Very few of these impressive series 75's can be had on the retail market. This is a rare opportunity to consider one of Cadillacs most extravagant Pre-war models for your collection. Youtube video available upon request.
