There was a total of 8 Dodge Chargers built for Vin Diesels use in the Fast & Furious, most of them were destroyed in production. This car was used for close-up filming and was not one of the stunt cars that were beat and abused and eventually wrecked beyond salvation. Because it was a close-up car, the actors had spent lots of actual time in the car, unlike the stunt cars which were driven by stunt drivers. Some of the cool "Hollywood Trickery" included on this car is the blower; its fake. An electric motor turns the blower pulley for effect. The engine is not even a Chrysler engine! It's a Chevrolet 350! Also, while the car may look like a 1970 Charger, as Hollywood would want you to believe, it is actually a 1969 fitted with 1970 parts. We acquired this car right after production. It is fully documented with Universal Studios documentation and paperwork.
