Rare SCJ, original drivetrain, rotisserie restored.
Rare, only 857 SCJs built! Documented, this car was born as you see it. Genuine Drag Pack, Super Cobra Jet which featured a stronger motor, H.D. cooling to handle higher RPMs created by the performance rear end. This one is rotisserie restored to concourse condition. From a prominent collection, not been offered for sale for many years. Factory spoiler and window slat car too. Original drivetrain. Has Marti report.EXTERIOR: Fabulous restoration. The metallic green paint is laid out evenly and it has a very deep clear coat finish that looks like you could dive right into it. Very straight, fits real nice. Per the Marti report it was born with shaker hood, hood stripes, dual painted pinstripes, spoilers and window slats. 14 inch Magnum 500 wheels look new, has reproduction Goodyear Polyglass tires. All the chrome looks new or restored. The whole tail panel is mint, grill is mint. Has correct antenna. The door jambs are painted up real nice, new weatherstrip applied with glue just like the factory did.
INTERIOR: Completely restored. Very dark Ivy green. The carpets have sewn in rubber mats. New dash pad, instrument bezel looks new. The console is mint. Upholstery front and back is redone. Headliner, door panels, everything looks redone. Honestly the only item that doesn't look new is the original radio knobs! Very functional too- shift indicator lights up, AM radio works, interior lights work. Has a factory manual choke with a label explaining how to use it.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Meticulously detailed to factory condition. It even has the smog system. Completely detailed out down to the factory stickers, okay stamps, correct hoses and clamps etc. Has the finned aluminum valve covers, complete air cleaner assembly with the heat riser assembly off the exhaust manifold. Smooth clean metal engine bay painted satin black with new bolts. Has hidden vin stamped on each inner fender. Bottom of the hood is glossy green. The tag on the motor is correct to this car. The 428 SCJ was designed to handle the higher RPMs for drag racing. This included a heavy duty rotating assembly which is not interchangeable with a CJ. Only the SCJ came with a large external oil cooler which meant relocating the horns.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Completely detailed out. Perfectly clean metal with the proper finishes. Has a reproduction tire for a spare, restored jack assembly, correct thick mat. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb is painted glossy. Has the proper rod to hold open the trunk which only came on factory spoiler cars. The latches, brackets housings are detailed.
UNDERSIDE: Detailed like a model car. Appears to be original metal in excellent condition. Very dry, clean seams and factory spotwelds. There's just enough minor pitting to tell us it is not replacement metal. Correctly painted "slop gray". The front end is completely rebuilt and detailed in the factory finishes right down to assembly line markings. Power steering system looks new. Bottom of the motor is spotless. Original C-6 automatic trans looks fresh. Still has tag with correct codes. Driveshaft has assembly line markings. Has original Drag Pack rear end with 3.91 traction lock gears. Has tag with correct codes, restored to factory specs. Rear suspension is restored and detailed, has staggered shocks. The fuel system was completely replaced- tank, sending unit, lines. Brakes were completely restored, has disc in front. E-brake assembly is complete. Replaced correct exhaust system. It looks like it did sitting on the showroom floor back in 1970.
Mileage is marked as actual on title, 85,000. This is an investment grade car. Rare, desirable and high quality. There are not many that exist in the world, here is an opportunity!
