Frame-off restored with only 6k miles.

This car was built for a 74 year old man who wanted the nostalgia of a true '60s sleeper but with the comforts of today's muscle cars. Has the lightweight Bel Air sedan body with standard cloth bench interior, a big motor and a stick shift. And, well, it also has A/C, power steering and power 4 wheel disc brakes! Frame-off restored and driven 6k miles, this car is dialed in right!

EXTERIOR: The body was stripped of all its chrome, trim, glass, weather stripping, front clips, doors etc.. It was given a high quality white paint job including the firewall and jambs and then reassembled with all new glass, weather stripping, restored trim and chrome for a crisp clean finish. The fit and finish is excellent, the doors close shut nicely, windows roll up and down with ease. The car has a very nice muscular stance and with the smoked glass, simply looks incredible.

INTERIOR: All of the interior was stripped from the car down to a bare shell and re-done. The dash was slightly modified, the original gauge holes, ash tray, heater controls were welded up and smoothed and new Auto Meter gauges were added. The dash was repainted with a gun including the windshield pillars and all the exposed metal parts, steering column, steering wheel, etc.. It retains the original fresh air vent controls, light and wipers controls all with new sparkling knobs. The original 1962 radio was gutted and rebuilt with modern AM/FM stereo guts retaining the exact look of the 1962 radio but with modern sound. Under the dash are the controls for the heat and air conditioner. All the controls work flawlessly. The heat is hot and the A/C is COLD! All new adobe beige upholstery from the headliner to the carpet. The door panels were restored with all new window and door cranks and arm rest bases. The upholstery is tight and the cushion replaced. Seat belts were added, including front shoulder straps, which were done so tastefully they look like they would have been in the car from the factory. While the transmission is a modern 5 speed, they installed a vintage appearing shifter.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is where the car gets good.. Under the hood is a GM Performance 502-502 Horse Power engine with aluminum heads connected to a Borg Warner 5 speed and a Ford 9" Posi rear-end. Cost new on the engine alone is about $12k.The engine compartment was detailed to be clean, but also basic without lots of flashy chrome to keep with the nostalgic style of the rest of the car. The front clip was off and the fire wall was painted at the same time as the body was, all the firewall components, hardware, bolts, nuts were all off and replaced with new for a clean detailed firewall. The front section of the frame was sanded and painted sating black, all the suspension was removed, repainted and rebuilt, all the rubber bushings, and hardware are clean and not painted over. Has an Be Cool aluminum radiator and Flow Cooler water pump..

UNDERSIDE: The frame was removed from the body but the car was being built as a driver, therefore everything was apart, rebuilt and cleaned but it was not over detailed for "show". The floor pans are factory undercoat. The minimal rust was repaired with new metal, 1 rear floor pan replaced and a couple very small patches were welded in place. The frame was stripped bare of all of its components, cleaned repainted, it was sanded smooth from the firewall forward. All the front suspension was removed and replaced with a new CPP performance front suspension, has a custom CPP 4-link rear suspension and sway bars, all the rear suspension components and Ford 9" axle are painted fresh and detailed with all new hardware. Custom rear disc brake set up with a working e-brake. All new fuel and brake lines, e-brake cable, gas tank, etc. that is fresh and not painted over. New 5 speed transmission with a high-perf. bell housing.

Unlike many frame-off restored cars that are built for show, this one was built for function and with 6k miles on the restoration its still fresh but has enough miles to have worked out any restoration kinks. I drove it, its fast, its responsive, it drives effortlessly, all the accessories function properly, all gauges, speedometer, wipers, lights. It has a great look and it is show worthy! Very tasteful, quality build.
