#s match, certified Z with original cross ram!
This is a certified #s matching Z-28 with a correct cross ram system including fiberglass hood. Has Jerry MacNeish and Mike Kaiser certifications, NCRS shipping report. The #s and codes are documented with photos. Concourse restoration with period correct wheels and traction bars.
EXTERIOR: Completely restored to better than new condition. I'm sure the paint wasn't this nice from the factory. All the body panels are perfectly straight and fit square and flush. The car was painted over 10 years ago and it looks like it rolled out of the restoration shop last night. I didn't see any bubbles, cracks or issues. The clear coat is polished so smooth you don't even feel the stripes. All the trim, moldings, marker lights, bezels and bumpers have been replaced. It has the exterior trim package which includes the louvers on the quarter panels and stainless moldings around the wheel wells and gutters. It also features bumper guards. Correct T-3 head lights. The Torque Thrust wheels are new but they are a period correct upgrade. That's actually the wheel that came on the Yenkos. They have reproduction 15 inch Polyglas GT tires. A rare item is the fiberglass cowl induction hood specifically for the cross ram setup. The windshield is new, all the glass is excellent. Door jambs are painted real nice, new weatherstrips and window seals.
INTERIOR: Completely restored. All the bits and pieces look new, fit right and function properly. I'm sitting in the car looking at a pristine dash area. The dash pad is new and fits right. All the lenses are clear, the chrome sparkles, gauges are mint, heater control panel is clean and functions properly. It has the full instrumentation package including the 8 grand tachometer and clock. Everything lights up properly. It has the original AM radio that works. The ashtrays are new, has correct lighter. The glove box has a new liner and owner's manual. Overhead the headliner is new, fits tight as a drum. The dome light works, has new visors and mirror. The shoulder belts are pristine. The cushions and upholstery have been redone. Door panels, armrests, window cranks and handles were all replaced. Down on the floor the carpet was replaced, has reproduction floor mats. Correct seatbelts are excellent The center console is new, it has the correct round Hurst bar shifter with chrome knob and gauge cluster. New deluxe rosewood steering wheel. Everything is impressive. The kick panels are mint with working vent levers. Rear shelf area is mint. Everything is working down to the radio.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: VIN number matching 302 DZ. This is the motor this car was born with, certified by Jerry MacNeish. On top is an original cross ram dual quad set up. Correct casting # and Winters snowflake on the intake, correct cross ram parts, correct service replacement Holley carbs. The motor was completely rebuilt to correct specs. Has 2nd edition offroad cam. Ceramic coated headers let out all that burnt fuel. The entire compartment is detailed out to factory new. It has proper assembly line markings, GM hoses and clamps, deep groove pulleys, reproduction Delco battery and spring clamp cables. Cadmium plated power brake booster is correctly coded and dated. Correct numbered alternator with ink stamp. The trim tag has been certified as being original to the car. The car was restored correctly per the tag: X77=Z-28, D80=spoilers, 69-69=cortez silver upper and lower.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Completely restored. All nice, clean metal with a neat spatter finish paint. Has the mat and tire cover. The jack looks new, has rally wheel and reproduction tire for a spare. Weather strips and decals are new. Bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are slick paint.
UNDERSIDE: Restored assembly line fresh. Every component was restored. Bottom of the motor still is spotless, starter looks new. The matching vin on the motor is correctly stamped near the oil filter, it would be extremely difficult to tamper with because it is not on a smooth surface. The bell housing has correct #s. The M-21 Muncie 4-speed is vin # matched and dated to this car. The rear end is correctly coded- 3.73 12 bolt posi.
The front suspension and steering is completely rebuilt and detailed in correct finishes. It even has assembly line paint markings. Rear suspension is new. Has correct labels on the springs. A set of period correct Lakewood traction bars were installed (easily removable). The brake system was completely restored, has disc in front. E-brake assembly was replaced. Fuel system was completely replaced. Has a wicked sounding exhaust with upgraded Flowmaster mufflers. Body was off the frame, new body bushings. The floors are immaculate and painted gloss black. Under this car is like new!
The cross ram takes the legendary, high performance Z-28 to a whole other level of muscle! It runs and sounds like a beast. An original cross ram set up sells for as much as $25,000. This is one of the best examples in the country. Not only does it look new, it functions just as well. The certifications truly make it investment grade, although I would also enjoy driving it too.
