Mostly original paint! Very authentic Z-28.

This is a very authentic Z-28. We have a list of dates and part #s that are correct. Claimed to have mostly original paint.
The car was bought new at Hampton Motor Company in Hampton VA. The 1st owner lived there. At some point it was then sold to 2nd owner in Virginia Beach. They raced the car in the early 70s. It was parked for 17 years. A 3rd owner in NC bought it in 2014 and owned it until 2020.

EXTERIOR: This is claimed to be an original metal car, after my inspection I believe it to be true. It is also claimed to have most of it's original lacquer paint. The paint shows beautifully from 5 feet away or outside on a sunny day but when you get up on it and look there's a lot of patina. There are touch ups and very small cracking. There's no signs of rust. Everything fits really well. Doors open and close with 1 finger. Just let go of the trunk and it clicks shut. Rare, original flat hood. By now most people have added a cowl hood for $199. It also has original "short" spoiler. The way the spoiler was installed and the stripes are applied to it is factory. Claimed to have original vinyl top. Original glass including windshield. Original weatherstrips. The stainless trim and bumpers are claimed to be original.

INTERIOR: It is a deluxe interior claimed to be all original except carpet was replaced and a stereo system was added. Inside the car is actually very well kept, not abused. The deluxe interior includes the molded door panels, wood grain trim and woven upholstery. The door panels are excellent, the dash pad fits really well, center console is real nice. The gauges and heater controls are real nice. There are some cracks in the steering wheel. The seats still look great, minor wear on driver lower cushion. They did install a stereo in the factory hole and speakers in the kick panels. The headliner is tight as a drum and the matching visors are mint. It has all the original seatbelts.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Completely rebuilt Feb 2020 to factory DZ 302 specs using GM parts. You can hear the difference, a real Z-28 has a distinct sound. The block and heads have propper casting codes and the dates line up perfectly. Correct coded exhaust manifolds with heat shields around the plugs. Correct aluminum intake with correct Holley carb. Even the valve covers are correctly numbered. A list of the #s is shown in our photo section. It has a new wiring harness and wiper motor, squirters are hooked up. Correct GM hoses and clamps. Radiator, fan and shroud appear correct. It has proper pulleys on the power steering, water pump and alternator. Correct cadmium plated brake booster with the correct bracket holding the hose to the intake. It even has the correct clips holding the hood insulation.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All original metal. I looked up inside there with a flashlight there are no cuts or splices in the quarter panels, they are the original. It was spatter painted. Has the proper rubber mat. There is a brand new rally wheel new BF Goodrich tire and a brand new correct reproduction jack assembly. The paint under the trunk lid and the jamb are the original, it still has the original jack instructions decal and weatherstrip.

UNDERSIDE: Looking up at the motor it still looks spotless. Correctly numbered starter was restored. Correctly dated M-22 Muncie known as the "rock crusher". Clutch, pressure plate and bell housing were replaced to original standards. In back it has the high performance axle with 4.10 posi gears dated and coded to this car. Also new correct exhaust system was recently installed with transverse muffler. Fuel system was replaced with a stainless tank, new sending unit and lines. The front end was completely rebuilt- balljoints, bushings, tie rods etc. The front disc brake calipers look new. E-brake assembly looks complete. Solid metal is painted satin black.

Here is an opportunity to own a very authentic Z-28. You can experience the real deal as it was in 1969. Very few in existence are this original, especially the paint. Dont miss out, there wont be another like it!
