Same owner 52 years! Beautifully restored, has documentation.

I bought this from the gentleman that has owned this car since 1969, 52 years! He bought it from the second owner for $1,200. He picked up his wife of 47 years for their first date in this car in 1973. He also told me a story where he took his two kids and his wife on vacation in this car. The kids sat in the back and the suitcase was strapped to the spare tire. It was professionally restored in the mid 90s by Canley Restorations, they specialized in British sports cars. Only 400 miles since restored. In 2018 over $5,200 was spent at another British car restoration shop where it was completely inspected and serviced. It has always been garaged, heated in the winter. Photos and receipts are included. 74,000 actual miles.

EXTERIOR: One of the best looking ones I've seen! Signature color- British Racing Green with sparkling chrome wire wheels. The body was completely taken apart and professionally restored. There are no signs of damage or rust and it was redone 25 years ago the! The metal is straight everywhere, it fits real nice. The paint is polished out very smooth and glossy. We have extra paint and the formula. The welting between body panels was replaced. The rubber strips on running boards were replaced. The convertible top and matching side curtains still look new. They have a tan cloth, the metal frame work is all repainted. It all fits real nice too. The front of the car is decked out. Chrome bumper and bumper guards, tri-bar Lucas headlights, dual mirrors, fender mounted turn signals, chrome radiator shell with hood ornament, optional fog lamps and a badge bar wirh a British badge. New chrome handles on the hood, they say MG right on them. It has a chrome windshield frame that folds down. In back chrome the pop up gas cap looks new. The taillights are original, the bumper and bumper gaurds are excellent. It also has a 5 sparkling chrome wire wheel. The wheels are Kelsey Hayes reproductions that bolt on instead of using the spinners. The 4 radial tires were replaced 3 years ago.

INTERIOR: It is completely restored. It has a premium upholstery kit from Moss Motors. The seats and door panels are genuine leather. The rear compartment is all reupholstered, there is a storage compartment for the side curtains. The chrome handle to crank start the motor is still attached to the back of the seat! The deivers floor has sunken foot well with MG rubber insert. The carpet was replaced but there is a bad spot. The original e-brake handle and shifter with 4-speed knob is there. The dash area was restored. The wood was refinished. The instrument panel was powder coated. The gauges and knobs look great. All the lights and gauges function. The steering wheel was restored. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 4 cylinder motor runs great. Everything looks real nice and proper. The firewall was repainted real nice. The toolbox opens from either side and has a cloth liner. The engine is dressed up with a finned aluminum valve cover. It has correct dual SU carbs (rebuilt) and chrome air cleaner. The aluminum intake and the exhaust manifold both say MG on them. The 12 volt battery is properly secured and has new cables and a disconnect switch. The cloth wrapped wiring harness was replaced. It has braided fuel lines and correct electric fuel pump. Rebuilt water pump, new hoses and belts. The original brass tags are on the firewall.

UNDERSIDE: The front suspension was apart, rebuilt and detailed. It has independent front suspension and rack & pinion steering. It has a front to back stainless exhaust system, the muffler is polished. The brakes were rebuilt and recently serviced. The brake lines and hoses look fresh, e-brake is hooked up. There is a finned aluminum oil pan on the motor. It has correct 4-speed trans. The frame and wood floors all appear to be solid.

These British sports cars are plenty fun. It's a completely different feel, sound and experience from the American cars I'm used too. This one in particular is beautiful to look at and has a great history.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
