Real GTO, code 242. Sharp looker, power steering and brakes!

This is a real code 242 GTO. It's a great looking, driver quality car. It will turn heads, get compliments but won't win 1st place at the GTO nationals. I'll take the compliments over trophies any day.

EXTERIOR: Well it certainly is a good looking car. The color is attention getting and the Cragars really pop. The body is really straight, look front to back, there's not a wave. It is smooth all along the bottom. The paint job is very smooth and glossy. It does have a number minor flaws that people walking up and looking won't notice. In front the bumper and headlight bezels are excellent. It has correct T-3 headlights. There is a tachometer mounted to the hood. The mirrors are new. The back bumper is nice. The weatherstrips are original and are brittle. It has a proud stance. The 15 inch chrome Cragars sparkle like new.

INTERIOR: The upholstery is in excellent shape. The door panels are excellent. The carpet is good. It has a complete set of GM seat belts. The dash area is original. No splits in the dash pad. It has a tachometer on the column and a gauge cluster below the dash. It has a walnut steering wheel. It has working interior lights, even in the glove box. It has quartz movement in the clock. The best part of all is that Hurst shifter sticking out of the floor between the bucket seats.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a 1968 400 block with the correct 670 heads. Upgraded dual feed Holley carb, Accel coil and MSD ignition box and a set of headers. Dressed up with new chrome valve covers and air cleaner. It also has a new Powermaster chrome alternator. It features power steering and power brakes. Upgraded aluminum Champion radiator with a clutch fan, shroud and overflow bottle. The battery is properly secured.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Big trunk. There is some rust repairs in the floor. They are the original quarters with only splices at the very bottom. Under the trunk lid is glossy. The weatherstrip is replaced.

UNDERSIDE: The front end looks like it has new ball joints, sway bar bushings and shocks. In back it has boxed control arms with new bushings and Koni gas shocks. The dual exhaust has Flowmaster mufflers with the correct stainless tips. The brake system was rebuilt, upgraded with drilled and slotted discs in front. New e-brake cables. Looking up at the motor it has clean paint, starter looks new. It has a 4-speed trans. Floors, braces, rockers all look real clean. It has minor amount of rust in the driver's floor pan.

This is a real GTO. It isn't show quality but when you are out shifting those gears it will be turning heads. It's a looker.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
