Real SS, factory red car. Trans, 3.55 posi, suspension just rebuilt.

This is a real SS 396, factory red car. Very nice looking in and out. Drives great. Suspension, trans and posi were just rebuilt.

EXTERIOR: This is a code 52 Garnet red car. Walk up to it and it shows real well. My father just walked in the photo studio and said " wow, that's nice". If you get up close there are little nicks and flaws. The body is straight with no significant damage or issues. The paint is smooth and shiny. The chrome and trim is the same way- shows very good but not new. Up front the grill and trim look like good originals. The black power convertible top was replaced in 2020. New rubber seals on the top frame. black and in real nice shape. The door weatherstrips and window pillars have been replaced. The SS wheels are original, tires look new.

INTERIOR: Unabused inside. It shows gentle wear but not beat up. It has bucket seats with new cushions and upholstery. Rear seat is excellent. The carpet looks new and has reproduction rubber floor mats. The center console is in good condition. The dash area is good, it's not cut up or broken. It has factory gauges and tachometer, they all work. Heater control panel is clean, has factory radio and power top switch. The door panels are in very good shape. Overall the dash pad, pillars, visors look good. It has complete set of GM seatbelts.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a correct Chevelle 396 motor. The compartment is cleaned up and spray painted. The motor has an Edelbrock intake with a dual feed Holley carb and an HEI ignition. It also has chrome timing chain cover, alternator bracket, valve covers and air cleaner. It features power steering, the power brake booster and master cylinder look new. It has both horns, washer bottle is hooked up, it has correct fan shroud and new battery.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid metal in the trunk. The mat and the well liner look new. It has a spare and jack assembly. Under the trunk lid is gloss red, the jamb is duller.

UNDERSIDE: The front end was just completely rebuilt. New everything with made in USA MOOG parts. Rubber lower control arm bushings, polygraphite in the top. New inner and out tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearings, idler arm, pitman arm, swaybar bushings and end links. It was then given an alignment. New AC Delco shocks front and back. In back it has all new polygraphite bushings. New springs. Factory type dual exhaust with the SS cowbell tips. Bottom of the motor is clean, new fuel pump and high torque starter. Correct 1969 Turbo 400 automatic was just rebuilt. New 10 inch 2400 stall converter, new certified flex plate. New u-joints, the driveshaft was painted. Original 12 bolt rear end is dated to this car and is coded specifically for a 396. It was just rebuilt with a rebuilt GM 3.55 posi unit. New yoke, bearings and axles. The housing was powder coated. The brakes are disc in front. The rear drums and wheel cylinders are new. Brake lines and hoses were replaced, e-brake assembly is hooked up.

All things considered this is a great value. It looks nice throughout. It drives very well. It's priced lower than most of the hardtop Super Sports I sell!
