Frame off resto, #s match, 1 family 49 years.

The most documentation I've ever had with any muscle car! 1 family owned for 49 years. The owner was very meticulous and saved everything. It is a frame off restored, #s matching, factory tri-power GTO.
Loaded with documentation: Original Virginia title, original order form, option and price lists, thank you letter from Pontiac, registrations and inspections from 1966-1991. It has Pontiac Historical papers, window sticker, owner's manual, wiring diagram. The car was stolen and recovered in 1969. We have letters the owner wrote to the newspaper and the FBI. We have the newspaper article and even a response letter from J Edgar Hoover, director of the FBI! You know what, I've barely scratched the surface. There is a 3 inch stack of history and a box of extras that will be included.

EXTERIOR: The body was taken apart and media blasted. The panels fit precisely- square and flush. It is straight as an arrow. I believe the quarter panels are original. Repainted it's original color- Palmetto green. It is beautiful. Polished to a very smooth and glossy finish. The weatherstrips, window channels and gaskets were replaced. All of the stainless and chrome is straight and shiny. The grills are excellent. It has all 4 correct T-3 headlights and the correct antenna. The vinyl top looks new. It was born with Rally 1 wheels and they are wrapped in radial redline tires. The windshield is new, the rest of the glass is crystal clear. Jambs are painted neatly.

INTERIOR: It's practically new condition inside. The interior was removed and sound deadener was applied. The carpet was replaced and it has reproduction Pontiac mats. It has a full set of original seat belts. The bucket seats have new cushions. The upholstery was replaced. Headliner and visors look new, no wrinkles. It has an optional day/night mirror. In front of me is a pristine instrument panel. The chrome sparkles, woodgrain is new, heater controls and knobs are excellent. The original am radio works. It has a restored set of rally gages including tachometer. New dash pad, glovebox liner and owner's manual. Even up under the dash is all clean. There is an optional Hazard light switch and it works. The original steering wheel does have some cracks. The center consol is mint. Door panels and armrests were replaced.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has its original born with 389-360 hp tri-power motor. It has correct YR code and is dated properly. It was completely rebuilt and upgraded internally to a 421. It has a 421 crankshaft, it's bored 30 over and it's balanced. It has TRW forged pistons and Pontiac tri-power cam. Original 093 heads have been completely rebuilt. New guides, valves, push rods, rockers and screw in studs. The seats were hardened, it has 3 angle valve job and they were pocket ported. The starter and alternator are the originals that have been rebuilt. The original radiator has upgraded staggered 5 row core, new heater core. The motor compartment is all proper and correct. Stock manifolds, carbs, hoses and clamps. The squirters are hooked up. It features power steering.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Complete and restored. Solid metal floor and quarters neatly spatter painted. It has 2 piece mat and matching tire cover. It includes spare and jack assembly. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted glossy.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame. The floors and chassis components were media blasted and painted. It has the Rallye suspension which includes front and rear sway bars and boxed rear control arms. The front end was completely rebuilt using Moog parts and polygraphite bushings. The balljoints, springs, tie rods, center link, idler arm were replaced. The rear suspension was rebuilt with new bushings, springs and correct spiral shocks. Bottom of the motor is clean, fuel pump looks new. Originally a 2- speed Powerglide trans. Now upgraded with a rebuilt 200R-4 overdrive automatic. transmission. New GM u-joints on the original drive shaft. It has the original date coded rear end with 3.55 safety trak gears. The axle bearings and seals were replaced. New fuel and brake lines. The fuel tank and sending unit were replaced. It has the correct replacement exhaust system with 2 1/4 inch pipes and staggered size mufflers. Rebuilt brakes with upgraded kevlar and ceramic shoes by Muscle Car Brakes. E-brake assembly looks new. It is exceptionally nice underneath.
