Detailed ground up restoration! This Chevelle SS is a sweet ride; I just did my inspection, and I'm impressed. It is detailed, laser straight, and put together right in every area!EXTERIOR: Sitting pretty! The Fathom Green paint was professionally done under prior ownership. All the metal flake is nicely laid out and the paint was applied with great detail. It's a rich, deep color and the SS stripes enhance it really well. Looking down the side of the body it is 100% laser straight with smooth contours and crisp lines. The panels have all been painstakingly aligned with gaps that are consistent and above average. The big heavy doors close easily with minimal effort. The vinyl top was replaced and in great shape. All the glass, rubber seals, and even fuzzy strips were replaced. The bumpers were also replaced and all the chrome has a lustrous shine. The headlight bezels appear to be original. The front grill with SS 396 badging, dual bulge hood and blacked out tail panel are all SS features. It's sitting on 14" rims with SS center caps that are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR: Looks like everything has been replaced or refinished! The seats have been recovered in front and back. The center console with staple shifter looks original but in very good condition. The door panels and dashpad were also replaced. It has additional factory gauges and even has a working clock. There is a digital retro stereo that fits in the factory hole. The carpeting was replaced and the car also has new wiring. Extra speakers were added to the kick panels and all the interior lights are working.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Gorgeous with upgrades! It has a correct 396 big block topped off with a Holley double pumper carburetor and Edelbrock intake manifold; a pair of long tube headers flanks the sides. It's equipped with air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. The horns and squirters are hooked up. The underside of the hood is painted slick just like the body and is complete with insulation. The fender wells and firewall are painted their correct satin black. The original cowl tag is in place.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick just like the body. The weatherstrip was replaced and a reproduction jack sticker was added. Inside the trunk pan metal is solid with a neatly applied spatter finish paint. It is also equipped with a full-size spare tire with cover and jack assembly. The trunk light is also working.
UNDERSIDE: All the steering components were replaced including a new steering gearbox. F41 suspension with front and rear sway bars plus boxed control arms etc. Fresh springs/shocks all the way around. Front disc brakes and the e-brake is also hooked up with new hardware too. Full dual exhaust system with long tube headers, fresh pipes, fresh mufflers, and polished tips exiting under the rear bumper. A new gas tank was installed. Looking up at the 396 engine it is painted chevy orange with a high torque starter. The Turbo 400 automatic transmission looks recently serviced with a fresh linkage and lines. It also has a 12 bolt rear end with a finned aluminum cover. The floors appear to be solid and rust free with a thin undercoating and fresh black paint. The frame was also prepped and painted.
SERVICE: Our lead mechanic thoroughly inspected this car, and we tightened a door handle, lubed the joints, replaced a fuse, repaired the backup switch, replaced the starter, and tuned the carburetor.
Pay attention to the details! Great looking car top to bottom. Ready to cruise with your head held high. Here is proof you don't need to spend over $100,000 for a cool car with a quality restoration!
