A/c, power steering and p disc, pony interior!

This Mustang checks all the boxes- a/c, ps, pdb and pony interior! A woman in Tennessee owned this car the last 8 years.

EXTERIOR: Clean southern body. The car is very straight and fits beautifully, the doors shut like a new car. Painted Raven black with no vinyl top, it's slick looking. The paint is polished very smooth and glossy, only minor imperfections if you look for them. Overall, the chrome and trim are straight and shiny. It's sitting pretty on a set of chrome GT wheels and BFG tires.

INTERIOR: It has the very desirable pony deluxe interior. This would include the molded door panels with the knife handle door openers, running ponies on the upholstery, deluxe wheel, and wood grain trim on the dash. Overall, it's very clean from carpet to the headliner, even the dash area is real sharp looking. It has a retro stereo in the factory hole with custom kick panel speakers and 6x9s in back. Even the seat cushions, glovebox liner, visors, instrument bezels were replaced. The interior lights work. Seat belts and a nice, cushioned armrest were added.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has some very desirable features under the hood starting with the 289 V8 engine. It looks stock from the valve covers to the air cleaner, it is upgraded with an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb. It also has factory air conditioning that blows cold, the compressor was replaced and the system was just charged. The power steering pump still has a sticker on it. Upgraded power brakes with dual master cylinder. The washers are hooked up. All the surfaces are clean and painted neatly.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Nice clean and complete trunk compartment. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted nicely. Inside is all clean metal painted black too. It has an original GT rim for a spare. Reproduction weatherstrip, tire cover and mat.

UNDERSIDE: It looks like everything was removed and replaced with new or rebuilt parts at the time of restoration. The front-end steering and suspension have been rebuilt. It has upgraded KYB gas shocks. The brake system has been redone: lines and hoses replaced, e-brake is hooked up, upgraded to disc in front. The fuel system was replaced: tank, sending unit and fuel line. The dual exhaust has cherry bomb mufflers. Looking up at the motor it is clean and has the correct starter and canister type fuel pump. Rebuilt C4 automatic transmission. The rear end looks like it was a part. The floors and frame rails are clean metal, they've been prepped and painted black.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and spent $2,395 on service. We rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the alternator belt, replaced the horns, fixed the fuel gauge, replaced the voltage regulator, calibrated the speedometer, replaced the wiper switch, cleaned out the a/c blower and lubed the door hinge. We replaced the brake booster, right rear wheel cylinder, left rear axle seal and rear brake shoes.

CONCLUSION: The 65 Mustang is as American as baseball and apple pie. This is a great example full of very desirable features and restored very nicely!
