Road & track ready. A/c, truck suspension!

This is more than a tribute or a clone, it's fully capable of holding it's own in high speed auto cross and road racing events. Although the owner did enjoy some time at the track, he mostly got his thrills cruising the streets. The gentleman we bought this car from has owned it since 2004. This car is featured on the cover of May 2021 Hemmings Muscle Machines where a 6 page article tells it's story. It was born a GT S-code 390 car, documented by the Marti Report. It was built by Performance Restorations, a high end shop I was very familiar with before the owner retired.

EXTERIOR: This great looking fastback is from the west coast and was a clean, rust free body to begin with. It is absolutely straight, fits right, no rust or damage. It has been decorated with premium Shelby enhancements from Tony D. Branda. The Wimbledon white is polished smooth and glossy. Painted on over the top gold stripes. In front the Shelby grill has inboard lights, scooped valance and racing hood pins. In back it has Shelby gas cap and sequential taillights. The glass is tinted, windshield was replaced. Chrome, trim and weather strips were replaced. It has vintage style American Racing wheels: 17x8s in front, 17x9s in back. They are wrapped in performance tires (replaced Mar 2021).

INTERIOR: It has a deluxe interior with brushed stainless trim and molded door panels. Upgraded FloFit sport seats were upholstered in the original comfort weave upholstery. It has a fold down rear seat, reupholstered. Door panels were replaced. The steering wheel and gauge pod are actual Shelby components, not reproduction. Upgraded tilt column. The dash area is restored, it has a matched set of Pro Comp gauges. The glovebox was signed by Carroll Shelby. It has a stereo system with kick panels speakers, 6x9s in back and an amp.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The FE block was poked and stroked to a 445 cubic inch making 500+ hp. It has a Scat stroker crank, 11:1 compression, Mahle forged pistons, Callie's Timkin rods, Erson hydraulic roller cam, roller rockers, Edelbrock aluminum heads and on top is an aluminum Shelby intake with dual 4 barrel carbs. A set of Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers lets the burnt fuel escape. It's well lubricated with a Ford Performance gear driven oil pump and windage tray. It gets spark from an MSD ignition system. It is decorated with finned Cobra valve covers and air cleaner. There is a tubular support structure to keep it from twisting. Upfront is a billet brackets and pulleys with a serpentine belt. It has a polished alternator, and power steering with a remote reservoir. Features include modern air conditioning with a polished mini compressor and stainless braided hoses. It has power brakes with a Wilwood master cylinder. It ran cool even when it lived in Arizona with the help of an aluminum water pump, radiator, overflow bottle and dual electric. All stainless hoses. It is a beautiful mechanical marvel under this hood.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick. The battery is relocated to the trunk. It an Optima battery with a disconnect and billet hold down.

UNDERSIDE: Upfront is upgraded with TCP tubular control arms, 1.25" swaybar, rack and pinion steering, billet truss brace and export bar and coilover gas adjustable shocks. In back it has a Heidts Pro-G 4 link system with coil over adjustable gas shocks, 1 inch swaybar, chrome control arms and panhard bar. The front and back are tied together with boxed frame connectors and tubular Shelby center supports. It stops using Baer Racing 4 drilled and slotted disc brakes at all 4 wheels, 13 inch in front, 11s in back. 3 inch exhaust precisely curves it's way out the back of the car. It has a crossover pipe and stainless Magnaflow mufflers. Aeromotive Stealth fuel tank, premium fittings and braided lines. The bottom of the motor has an extra capacity finned aluminum oil pan and a high torque starter. It has a Tremec TKO 5-speed trans with an 11 inch McLeod Super Street Pro clutch and a Hurst competition shifter. In back is a Ford 9 inch with Yukon 3.89 posi gears.

SERVICE: We inspected this car and it passed with flying colors.

This car is amazing in all respects. I'm telling you I've seen thousands of cars, this is the real deal. It's built right by a very qualified shop! It would cost 1/4 million dollars to duplicate today.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
