'Miami Vice' star to appear at Volo Auto Museum

VOLO – "Miami Vice," a TV series from the late 1980s will be celebrated this Saturday at the Volo Auto Museum, 27582 Volo Village Road in Volo, according to a news release.

Among the series' leading stars was Michael Talbott (Det. Stan Switek), who will be greeting fans and signing autographs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the release stated.

In conjunction with Talbott's visit, museum director Brian Grams will be celebrating some detective work of his own.

Back in 2006, museum officials bought a fiberglass-bodied Ferrari Daytona Spyder replica on a hunch it was used on the "Miami Vice" set. Grams collected mounting evidence of its authenticity over the years, determining this year he had what he believed he had all along – the No. 1 "Miami Vice" car, long believed to no longer exist, Grams said.

"We have indisputable proof, including original documents from Universal Studios archives reflecting the car's VIN number," Grams said.

Museum admission is $14.95 for adults; $8.95 for children ages 5 to 12; and free for children 4 and younger.
