WELCOME TO TITANIC:

A Tribute to the Tragedy, an intimate, emotional, educational and elaborate tribute to one of the world’s most historic tragedies. Step into the world of the early 20th century, where world-class wealth and dreams of a better life collide on the decks of the world's most luxurious ocean liner. Our museum showcases an unbelievable $6 million collection of some of the rarest Titanic-era luxury automobiles in the world. These cars are the only ones left in existence and are the same as those owned by the famed millionaires whose fate is forever tied to the Titanic.

Over two years of research, passion, acquiring authentic artifacts, and building immersive exhibits went into creating something unforgettable for both Titanic enthusiasts and lovers of the hit movie. This one-of-a-kind museum pays tribute to the era, the people, and the shocking stories of the Titanic’s triumphs and failures. See first-hand how life was for third, second, and first-class passengers through authentic Titanic-era fashions and artifacts.

While some museums and pop-up exhibits over-sell tickets for maximum profit, we only allow 30 people per hour so that you can absorb everything our museum has to offer at your own pace. We invite you to join us in preserving the legacy of the Titanic—a solemn vow to ensure that the stories of those who sailed on her maiden voyage are never forgotten and that their memory continues to inspire generations to come.

“The best way to honor and remember the passengers and impact of the Titanic is to continue to tell their stories”
-Greg Grams, Founder

Explore the RMS Titanic in Volo, IL

Check out the Titanic Experience at the Volo Auto Museum! Here, you can step into the Titanic Era and follow a real-life passenger from the ship's voyage to its tragic end. This exhibit is ideal for the whole family, history buffs and movie fans alike.

The White Star Line Titanic Exhibit

The Titanic is White Star Line's most infamous voyage, setting sail from Southampton on April 10, 1912, and sinking in the fateful morning hours of April 15, 1912. Immerse yourself in this timeline by reading the stories of first-, second- and third-class passengers who lived through this tragedy and experiencing the slanted decks and 28-degree Fahrenheit water.

Instead of only focusing on the ship, our museum also approaches the Titanic Era as a whole, giving our guests a look into what the passengers experienced in daily life. View luxury cars, the era's fashions and more aspects of the different social classes.

Luxury Automobiles

How could we be associated with the Volo Museum's main attraction without exhibiting some vehicles? We host an exclusive collection of Titanic Era cars totaling $5 million. Our most notable automobile is the remarkable 1912 Renault Type CB Coupe de Ville — one of two ever built. The only other model of this vehicle rode and sank with the Titanic itself.

We also exhibit other vehicles from this era, including Benjamin Guggenheim's very own car. Guggenheim was an American businessman who heroically decided to stay onboard the Titanic as it sank. Instead of scrambling for a spot on a lifeboat, he and his valet returned to their rooms, donning their fanciest suits and facing the tragedy as gentlemen.

Authentic Titanic-Era Fashion

The Titanic Era is known for its fashion and overall style. At our Titanic museum, we display authentic clothing from the later 1800s to 1912, providing a taste of what all the passengers on the ship would have worn — from the elite first class to the poverty-stricken third class.

We meticulously preserve these pieces to withstand the test of time. Walk past these displays and admire their intricate beading, tailored cuts and material textures — and try to imagine yourself wearing a corset every day!
