Does this X-34 Land Speeder really defy gravity or is it just smoke and mirrors?

Sorosuub X-34 Landspeeder
The X-34 Landspeeder is a fictional anti-gravity craft that was driven by Luke Skywalker.
It was built by John Stears, who fitted the body around the chassis of a 3 wheeled Bond Bug automobile. One of the greatest challenges for the production crew was to disguise the wheels to create the illusion that it was floating. This was a time before CGI and they literally used “smoke and mirrors” to achieve their goal.
Life-sized characters, functional R2D2, Millennium Falcon prop are all licensed Star Wars Items.
